Sadly not all teachers provide update. Some are less proactive than others. Then we parents got to keep asking if any qns. -

Lion Dance .. wow I must tell my girl, she will love it !
Good point raisedLeeTaiTai:
Actually while school is trying not to make it competitive, from another perspective, if the kid is on the lower range of scores, knowing it in advance can help the parents work on brushing up the kids' weaker area.
Anyway, I jsut bought my girl's CNY clothes last night and she is looking forward to wear it to school next Thursday ! Cant wait for holidays to come soon !!
Think every parent is keen to find out whether our own dd is doing within or below average, for each subject.
We just want to benchmark our own dd score, against the average cohort mean. At least out of the 3 subjects, which is our dd weakest subject (if fall below average), need to take note of, put in more conscientious effort to learn ?
Maybe on 8 feb (sat) parents' briefing, let's bring this up for discussion with p. the cohort level average mean should be made transparent.
without any benchmark on average / mean score -
how to know whether need to improve, so that form tr can write some encouraging remarks into report card, end of the year like example :
\"had shown some improvement in Maths, good. Keep it up ! \"
(Something like that)
Recall at our last orientation meeting (4 Jan ) -
P said if we have got more questions after our kid had settled down in school,
We Can bring up to discuss, at our next meeting ?
==================================
Next wed contact time have lion dance, opera show.
Some p1 / p2 classes ' parent volunteer have prepared ang pow, for the girls. -
But the curriculum briefing on 8 Feb…is only 1 parent / child. Will they mark attendance? hahaha
-

Apart from P/Q/R & E/F, A/B/C/D/G/H are divided into 2 groups and they have to change class during these 3 subjects. The child will know whether they are in the HCL or 1st/2nd/3rd/Foundation class for the subject. The streaming is based on the previous year's SA2 results. From there the parents will know where the child stands.
From what i know the PTM session for upper Pri is more for the T to provide feedback to the parents. The PTM is optional for those girls who are doing ok. However, the parents can still ask for the PTM if they want to. I have not attended any PTM since P4.......... to me no news is good news!!!!! -

From P1 term 2 onwards -
There will be some mini byte tests, accumulate towards final score in term 4, for each subject.
(Mother tongue Chinese / Malay / Tamil, English, Maths)
The banding system is used, reflected in their report card, at end of the year in term 4 -
Band 1 : 85 % and above
Band 2 : 70 to 84 %
Band 3 : 50 to 69 %
Band 4 : less than 50 %
=============================
Last Friday (24 jan) -
P1 cca posting / outcome results were released, to parents.
=============================
Some of the p1 English teachers are hardworking.
they took effort to walk the extra mile, "on the ball" type.
For each show & tell -
Tr going to video tape their pupils’ show & tell, store into pupil’s thumb drive, bring home
And let parents review their child’s facial & verbal expression from thumb drive, & in turn help their dd to improve, in their next show & tell.
(assessed, from p1 term 2 onwards)
Show & tell is oral -
preparing them towards term 3, to start creative writing / composition. -
Hi all,
There is no banding system for P1.
The entire class will move automatically to the next level. E.g if your DC is from 1I she will automatically move to 2I.
Only at end P2 there is "silent" banding and the official one is at end P3.
