I can’t help liking Haikal just from his photo in the papers. He looks like such a happy kid, not stressed at all and busy winning awards. Like what ks2me used to say, a lot of kids are hothoused/forced to perform, but it’s gonna be hard to force someone to be an all-rounder, winning awards left, right and centre, and at 13 some more, when the hormones kick in.
Kudos to his parents for catering to his needs and helping to pave the way for his success so far. -

Blobbi, I don't used to say....I still say...no hothousing or forced to perform, it is not sustainable. I purport the difference is most parents are confused between helping and pushing the children overboard.... Totally agree. The line between helping and hantaming/squeezing to hothouse is a fine one. The head of the PSG at my son's school said this: \"Mark my words - the force used on your child will be returned to you 10-fold when he's a teenager.\" This I completely believe. Make that a logarithmic return. -

I like NUS High but it’s really unfair how they choose people.
There’s a test right? Well, we studied for it, and turns out they’re testing o level stuff. WT?? We’re still P6 students, and you never even tell us what would be tested. That is why now whenever I went to test, i will study one grade higher. Like A level for JC entrance test.
Now, if I took PSLE, i surely would get in. Last time you can only get in by passing the test, now you get 250+ can already. I got friends getting 240+ and got in last time. -

no, to become a doctor, you need H2 pass in Chemistry and one other science. math is not counted as a science, fyi. On the surface Math is not important, but i guess since everyone has maths, then you should also take math.
