Hi, can I ask PH parents about P1 reg? Usually for SC outside 2km for 2B there is balloting right? I checked the forum’s statistics and it seems to say so. But I called the school and they told me SC within 1km for 2B has balloting last year?
We are members of the Presbyterian church but have not spoke to our pastor about the 2B eligibility letter, not sure if there are very specific criteria to fulfill. Can anyone here advise?
Is it worth the nerve-wrecking exercise of applying for 2B if we are outside 2km? Not sure what are the vacancies left at 2B for SC outside 2km. The school tells us balloting for SC within 1km which contravenes what we read here at 2 different threads. -

Hi, whether to ballot or not depends on the demand in a particular year. During my son's year, there was no balloting in P2B. But the school seemed to be in greater demand recently and the cohort size has also shrunk to cater for single session.Hi, can I ask PH parents about P1 reg? As for getting a letter from your pastor, you can request him for it. The criteria may vary from church to church, but I believe the minimum is that you are involved in a certain ministry. Hope this helps. -

Agree. With rumours abound that PH P1 intake gonna cut another class, it's anyone's guess whether balloting will happen for P2B within 2km or less this year.

Sorry to ask this. Is you child registering this year? Have you been attending church in at least the last one year? If you have, you would have seen this in the bulletin. To get the phase 2B letter, you need to be an ACTIVE member. This is the criteria. Our church will publish this, i.e. \"Applicant must be an active member\" in the bulletin when it's time to fill in the form. This applies to both Presbyterian schools now. (Used to be only PH.)
The pastor can issue the letter but the school will not endorse on it if you have not met the criteria. -

Yes we have been attending regularly and are baptised members of the church. Just did not pay attention to this phase 2B thingy in the bulletin in the past years cos we were not considering PH cos too it was too far away for us. We are considering moving to the west hence we thought we may give PH a shot.

Even after I got the letter, I still went thru' the nerve-wrecking experience of balloting bcos >2km. The rest is history
