My daughter just started at Millennia Institute - not a JC, but still doing A levels. I've got good vibes about the school so far - the staff openly acknowledge that the school is the 'last option' for most students, and that many are dying to 'escape', but they seem very encouraging and supportive. I hope my daughter will find friends and settle in fast once the class assignments are finalised.
That sounds good. Hope your daughter enjoys her time there. -

Go for account or management instead of Art or science, A level will be very competitive for kids in MI. My suggestion, my girl only eligible to PJC/ JIC/InJC/YJC I encourage her to go to Poly and choose a good course instead of struggling in A level. Cheers...
Thanks. My daughter's main interest is literature and writing, so she will do Lit, Geog, Management and Maths (H1). She is numerically challenged (like her mother), which is why we suggested Management instead of Econs, and I can't see her doing Accounts! She was offered a couple of JCs, but we felt that having an extra year would be the right thing for her. We decided against Poly because we don't think she can cope with the less structured system, but we told her to consider that for after her A levels if she can't get into university. Anyway, we still have 3 yrs to see how things go. We don't have high expectations of this child as she's not very strong academically and has some learning issues, but there is always the hope that she may surprise us eventually. -

I learn never to underestimate each child's potential. She'll do great with passion!CCKparent:

Hi, dropping in to check what is the bus fare for a JC1 student?
My elder boy is being charged adult fare with his old ezlink student card (issued in sec 1), dunno why.
