Thanks for the info. My nephew's school also provides for p1 afternoon session students. So wondering why they can support. If the school provides bus maybe more children will joinCCA Bus:
My understanding is this:-
RGPS has CCA bus...BUT only for the girls in the morning session as there are not enough numbers to warrant a bus service for the afternoon session (given that CCA is not compulsory in P1 and P2, but is compulsory from P4).
For a start, hb will be sending DD for her CCA when it commences. We will see how, thereafter. Worst case, she goes to school early (like, 8.30am on our way to work) and hang around or whatever...till CCA time. (Not ideal, IMO...but...what to do?) I do know of some who did not sign up for CCA because they are unable to arrange the logistics for their P1 DDs.

For CCAs that fall on non-PE days, must the girls change into their blouse or can they wear the PE t-shirt for the rest of the day?

He in charge of Rgps Ssta (singapore school bus transport association)
He said for p1 and p2 cca -
No school bus, for cca.
Parents need to bring kids to school themselves, for morning cca 10 am.
He said is an arrangement made, with the school.
So, I asked "what if I can help you gather some kids, staying along the same route, for cca ? Can you then help me arrange a small mini van, on every Tuesday, 10 am cca ? What is the minimum number of kids required, to open up a cca mini van, in order to break even petrol & transport costs "?
He replied is not a matter of able to gather how many kids, from p1 and p2.
He said is an agreement made, with the school.
Only p3 to p6 : then got cca transport.
think we need to bring this up this Saturday, when we see p.
due to transport logistic dilemma, many p1 and p2 parents forgo cca, unless they happen to have helper at home, to bring child to cca, once a week.
If got cca bus provided, think more p1/ p2 parents will be glad to let their dd join. -

What I am concerned is the lunch before school on CCA days. Will the canteen be open at 12Pm? Parents are allowed to accompany in the school?
My girl told me that the toilet is dirty and toilet roll is too high for her to draw tissues. Everyday come back home and rush to toilet......

Yes. Canteen is open at 12pm, no worries. Parents are not allowed in the school (unless u are doing PV on that day).when will CCA starts? I haven't got any notice yet.

Yes some toilets are really very dirty n smelly. Mostly no toilet papers.
Hope the school can do something about it too. -

All notices had been sent out to p1 parents, of their cca application outcome.
The children brought back the form home, let their parents see the form.
Since you did not receive the notification, perhaps can contact the cca tr in charge, or ask your dd form tr, what happen to your cca form ?
Has it been misplaced accidentally ?
Cca is 2 hrs, from 10 am to 12 noon.
The canteen is open, at 12 noon.
Children can eat inside canteen, after cca end.
They have half an hour to eat.
12.30 pm : p1s need to go up school hall, assembly. -

Hi, I understand from my dd that they have to sit for an English test during PE lessons today. Anybody knows what is the test for? As we are not informed about it.
Yesterday, sat (8 feb) during first pmt inside classroom :-

From p1 2014 Cohort need to take learning support (Maths), in our school.
All students had cleared basic numeracy mini exercise(s) / tests.
Tr said some students careless -
when come to writing 6, the 6 look like a zero.
Tr ask parents to remind our kids to write legibly, for 6 and 0.
6 got a \"head\" coming out at the top.
But p1 Maths tr said from (term 2 to term 4 ):-
the mini byte sized maths exercise(s) are graded, from combined (hands on practical performance tasks done + review assessments).
If pupil is weak, school will identify them, make phone call notify parents to let their dd attend re-medial maths lessons.
(So, no news is good news, if you dont receive call)
For English literacy :-
Tr will ask students read aloud short passages, see if child able to read. -

so my dd need wear uniform for CCA? or any other clothiers will do? she will have to wear uniform in afternoon session, I hope there will be place for her to change clothes after the CCA. -
for P1 cca -
can let her wear PE attire.
Security is very tight now !
Parents not allowed to go canteen anymore.
(Unless you happen to be a parent volunteer, for that particular day)
Because the school hall is just directly above the canteen.
Reaching the canteen, is as good as having reached the school hall.
Parents can only drop off your dd at the front porch (if drive in by gate 1), & after that got to leave.
The Security guard standing there, right at the porch -
giving clear instructions to your dd, where to go for cca.
The Principal also standing there, a few steps up the front porch -
Guiding your dd where to go, for cca.
If parents tell security guard they want to help dd buy food in canteen -
The guard will reply you, \"we want to train your p1 dd, to be independent.
She is big enough, to learn to buy food on her own. \"
So, parents not allowed to go canteen.
after cca end, dd can go toilet, change to uniform.
(may train her at home first, how to change into uniform, how to tie up her hair neatly, in case her long hair become messed up)
Put a comb, inside her school bag.
after cca end at 12 noon -
Your dd may eat your packed lunch box (prepared from home) at the canteen, or eat directly from the canteen. Only half an hour to eat.
12.30 pm: bring school bag up to school hall, assembly time.
if cca day happen to coincide with PE day -
if child perspire & sweat a lot after the cca (eg: play & dribble basketball, run around under hot sun, in the basketball court), maybe bring an extra clean PE blouse for her, to change into.

Because p1 / p2 no school bus transport for cca, many parents are in dilemma, over transport logistic issue :-
Those of you who happen to have maid at home to help bring your dd to school for cca, once a week only :-
Your (maid + dd) can board public bus 92, at bus stop 11361, right outside buona vista mrt station. Very convenient ! This bus stop is directly opposite ministry of education (moe), heading towards the direction of ghim moh road.
In the morning :-
bus 92 come around, every 15 minutes interval.
If your maid miss bus 92, she got to wait another 10 to 15 minutes.
Since p1 cca start 10 am -
latest time your maid reach this bus stop is ... 9.30 am.
From this \"buona vista \" mrt station bus stop to reach Rgps school, it is :-
3 bus stop away (if your dd enter by gate 1 and then walk up the front porch for cca.
Note :-
Gate 3 is locked.
Cannot enter by gate 3
