hi carol oh no not again, you should have just got rid of her previously. Why not repatriate her and tell MOM to blacklist her… this kind maid must teach a lesson.

Hi carolsoh
My current helper also requested to tsf after e loan period. She sms-ed me when we were out, not daring to tell me face to face. I was quite angry, as it kinda spoiled my mood. I sms-ed her back that we would talk to her when we return home. That also gave us sometime to discuss our course of action on e way home.
DH and me sat her down and asked for her reasons. She said in her previous employer house, she did not have to look after the kids as the mam is at home, and the mam cooks, so she only did housework.
We told her matter of factly, that every household requirements are different. There are no 2 same household. Moreover, we had clearly stated our requirements to the agent and she had agreed to them.
We gave her 2 options.
1) stay on to complete her contract, and in the meantime, obey all house rules (but we didn’t really have that many house rules except having to keep bedroom door slightly ajar). If she encounter any difficulties, she must approach us so that we can resolve them collectively.
2) we send her back home, and if she wants to come back to SG to work again, she has to go through the whole process of going thru agent, pay agent fees, loans etc.
I think that makes her realised we are no push overs and she can’t suka suka ask for tsf. I told her tsf is out, if she really doesn’t want to continue to work for me, she can go home.
Of course if she had really chose to go home, i would hv to bite the bullet and survive that few weeks/months with no care-giver to my 2 DS as I am a FTWM with no parental/IL support. Moreover, it was just after school hols and sch was going to start soon. Behind the brave front, I was actually pulling my hair and praying hard she would take e bait. We also explained to her again our priorities (children first, housework last), our expectations and that ours is really a simple and easy household to manage.
We eat simple home-cooked meals, not fussy at all, no heavy cooking, frying etc, and she is free to design her own menu. She has full freedom to decide what housework to do on which day.
She stayed on and is coming to 2 years in Sept. We have yet to speak to her if she wants to continue. She has no further complains after that talk, and we also mostly close 1-2 eyes on the petty things as long as we get our meals, my kids are safe, housework gets done. -

If she is older than you and many years exp in SG or other country, she probably read you as being more scared and needy than her.Hi ScaredMum,
We also don't cook heavy food co's we don't eat fried foods. Usually fri we don't require to cook dinner as we eat out. Sat lunch and dinner no need to cook too. I did talk with her nice, told her I won't transfer her, I'll muddy send her back home. I also told her after she return and come back to Singapore will need to pay agent fee and loan. Very strange that she's not afraid at all, she told me it's ok, she can go back home and return back again. Seen she's not bother about the agent fee and loan. This time most of the experience maid very ya ya.
If you told her you won't transfer her, you must carry out sending her home. If she calls your bluff, she will be riding you for the rest of her time with you. -
Hi carol, your maid from Filipine is it ??for me ,the moment I know the maid doesn’t want to change or can’t look after my kids …I rather send her packing off. Yes I need to pay again for new maid, but i can’t risk leaving my kids in some unhappy person’s hand while I am working. Its just too risky with all the stories nowadays.

Hi Carol, hope you get a good maid this time. I would rather stay away from Transfer maids, sometimes just to get rid of them ,employers can give very good reasoning.

During day off the 1st thing is to bitch abt employer and these next is to talki about transfer. Told my maid, since u already paid all the loans there will be no transfer, only return home. After that never mention about transfer anymore.

There is no such thing, According to MOM , maid under work permit cannot be married here. If she is pregnant, she will be repatriated.
