Can anyone share how much increment do you give to your maid if you renew the contract with her.?

Is it 10%, 20% or more?

      Mine is asking for 20%.

Ours is ok relationship as long as she do her work (we close one eye) and not give us problems.

She prefers to stay with us. So the increment part, I am unsure how much to give her cos I was thinking more of 10-15%.

      How is her work performance?

So far ok (God's blessings). We close one eye when it come to housework and cooking.

I have the same query- Did not read all the posts! But My Mynmaar Maid is due to finish contract in July. I want to renew her contract. Salary is $400 with one day off a month. couple of issues:

        1. She wants 1 month home leave! I cannot give her 1 month. I am planning to send her in June as for 10 days in June we are also planning a holiday. our contract sayd 15 days.
        2. she wants two days off a month. I am ok with that. But how do I adjust salary. What increment? We have not discussed yet. She wants $500. I told her I need to discuss with my husband.
        3. Anyone has had any recent problem of mynmar maid returning to singapore? should i renew her permit through agency or can i do myself. This is my first maid so I am not so sure.

My maid is good with kids and she can handle my parents-in-law also with great patience so I want to badly keep her for another year!

If I can sort out her home leave request, I'll offer her $500 with 2 off days if I'm you. After all, that's the market rate even for fresh maids, so I'd rather save the trouble and just offer this to her. Renewal of wp should be rather easy using WP online?

One of my friends gave $20 increase after the first 2 years.. Her maid is the diligent and well behaved type... What's the normal increment?

After Indon authorities announced an increase in Indon maid's minimum salary to $450 an ex colleague of mine offered her maid a salary of $420 for renewal of her contract. (Salary was 350 or 370 before renewal). The maid said ok.
Probably cos her work was comparatively light: living in a flat with 2 elderly but able-bodied women. No babies, not pets, no car to wash etc.

Hi, will like to see if anyone has similar experience:

My maid's work permit expiring on 31 Mar. But my new maid coming in only in 3rd week of Mar. Meanwhile, we gave 2 days off to my current maid in Feb to go for interviews and she wanted me to sign the consent form for transfer today as MOM requires 30 days before expiry for change of employer and MOM advise that the transfer will take place within a week! 😢 We didn't expect this timeline or we would have looked for a new maid earlier or may not even agree to let her transfer in the first place...

Anyone has experience negotiating with current maid's new employer ad agency on having her new permit applied only a week before my new maid comes?

Wow $500???? Is she worth that amount? On top of that, you still have to feed her, pay maid levy etc? It easily comes up to more than $1k.

                  Need some advice…

Currently have a maid that has been with me for 4 years and her contract will end October. However, lately we discovered that she sneaked out of the house without our permission and her attitude is not very good either. Asked her what’s wrong and if she still wants to continue working with us. Then she said for her to continue, she wants to be paid $700 and have longer off days!

Currently, she has 2 days off per mth and she goes off from 10-5pm. The reason why I insisted on her coming back at 5pm is because I want her to prepare dinner for my kids. She used to be ok with the timing. But lately attitude has changed.

Should I still continue with her?

And also she mentioned that she has found other employers who are willing to pay her $700-$750 per mth. Are there such employers out there who are willing to pay an ex-sin maid $700-$750 per mth?

I'm currently paying her $550 and she wants salary increment of $150! Moreover, I just increased her salary a few mths ago as previously there was another maid, my mum's maid, who also lied to my mum abt her husband dying and she needed to go back urgently then when she went back told my mum she didn't want to work anymore but 1 mth later, came out on her own without any agent and came back to work with another employer! Broke her contract and lied to us!!

Seeing that she was all alone handling all the housework, I increased her salary to compensate her. She was ok with the salary a few mths ago but suddenly now, she wanted $700!

I asked a few agencies and they told me ang moh typically pays ard $600-$650. So I asked her if she is willing to settle for $650 and she said no. Very upset with her as she is just trying to 'hang herself up to sell' (hokkien saying)....cos she thinks she very experienced already.

It was more of a surprised than any other feelings when I heard of the 20% increment my maid wants.

I will probably offer lesser than she wants and see if we both can come to an agreeable sum.

I know of ang mohs who paid their maids $700 and above but they are paid for by the company. Out of their own pockets, no way.

If your maid is showing attitude problems and adamant on the sum she wants, let her go.
