School bus fare

Hi, I'm wondering how school bus fare is computed?


I'm stay between 2km away from school and the school bus fare charged $160 :yikes: for one way trip and $165 for two way trip from my place at Lorong Lew Lian to XingHua Pri Sch. Is this a reasonable amount ?!? :? Can somebody enlighten me? Thanks!

That's really expensive. my DS's school about 4km, one way is $95 & I am already complaining and yours costs $160 for 2km distance?? really too much..

It is common for them to collect fee for june if you sign up during first half of the year, and fee for december if you sign up during second half of the year. Deposit on top of these two months, I have not come across.

Hi there. I enrolled my daughter in Edgefield primary at punggol and currently im staying in ang mo kio. I will be shifting to punggol mid of this month. I was charge $280 for 2 way trip. Do u all think its overprice?

I’m laying $100 for 1 way. And this is a 35% increase compared to last year. I was horrified when I found out at beginning of year. But no adverse reaction from other parents cos I posted question in school thread. So guess only I feel increase is excessive.

Unbelievable! That is day light robbery! Not to mention about June and December also have to pay even when there is no service.
If I were you, I would contact school bus association Singapore to ask for advice.

Am paying $120 one way and my kid takes the school bus about 1-2 times a week. Rest of the days pay extra cos staying back for CCA or enrichment. Not an option for me cos my place not well-serviced by public transport.


Mine is also an increase in excess of 20% from last year.

I m paying for AMK to Bishan for $129 (even only 6 bus stop away)…
