If your girl is Catholic, you fall under 2B, regardless of distance, though you would have to provide your girl's baptism cert at registration to prove that she is Cathlolic. Hope that helps.

Great! We definately have her bap cert. Thanks!

Then you are safe! Good luck! For registration this year?

It is always finger biting for first child, :nailbite: after that, sit back and relax for 2nd child, especially if 2nd child is of same sex as first! Been there done that! šŸ˜‰

Actually 2nd child & only girl. Son's Sec 1 this yr also so stressed but he's tougher - WE experienced some \"culture shock\" 1st week when the older boys were behaving badly but he's settled in well. Also its been a while since i had to send my baby out to school (K2 only 3hrs) & being a girl + final child... more pampered - + she is very attached to us, still teary going back to sch after only 1 wk of sch hols... + I'm just a mom that can't seem to let go... sigh.... My hubby had to tell me \"Let son take the public bus for pete's sake, he's in sec 1\". Well, I'm just like that and am working, can't imagine if i stayed home with them, they'll be glued to my sides hahaha! I know i'm a terrible mum...

You have to learn to let go, it is good for both of you. If you don't start training your girl now, you are going to have problem with her going to P1 next year, serious.

Oops, :offtopic: liao, back to topic .... CHIJ family of schools .....

                Hi

I am new in this forum. Can some one please advise me what is the chances like for my daugther to get into CHIJ Katong. We are Catholics and we live more than 2Km from the school. Any balloting required for phase 2B on past history? Is it true that Catholics children get into phase 2B automatically?

                  Hi Jenrence

First of all, welcome to KSP.

Here's the link to the balloting history for schools in Bedok area.

                  http://www.kiasuparents.com/kiasu/content/bedok

No, Catholics DO NOT automatically get into Catholic Schools under 2B. If there is balloting, the same distance rule applies.

                  Hope that helps.

Hi! I am also considering IJ Katong for my daughter, only that she is born in 2006 so will be registering two years later.

From my observation, IJ Katong tends not to have balloting for Phase 2B, except for the year it was based in Bedok. So I am toying with the idea of balloting for IJ TP in Phase 2B, and if unsuccessful, go for IJ Katong. Not sure how it will work out.

My goodness, where do you stay? :? IJ TP and IJ Katong are some distance away from each other! But if you register under 2B for IJ TP and is not successful, you will have to register at IJ Katong under 2C and distance plays a part if there is balloting. Please think carefully. Are you nearer to IJ TP or IJ Katong?

I’m staying in Tampines, so over 2KM for both. But all past years, IJ Katong had Phase 2C Supplementary.
