      WeiHan:
I notice RV's A level results has been declining since the first two batches of stellar performance. I think the school should really find out the reason as there is no excuses why subsequent batches cannot perform as well as the first two batches.

I have impression that RV is weaker in humanities subjects, so it is really high impact to really put in more effort in this area. Most RV students do not know how to find examples and research additional materials for humanities, thus maybe the teachers should put abit more effort in the notes?
I concurred, especially noting that the cohort size is rather small (415 vs 1239, unconfirmed) as compared the RI's.

I think is too far off to compare with RI and HCI lah. Even Dunman High and NJC has done much better this year. Dunman High economic dept has realised their weakness and has been adding alot of notes in the last two years.
Wah, Weihan...u know abt DHS Econs dept adding notes last 2 yrs?
I din know abt it...only realised tt there is a great improvement in % of Distinctions in Chem n Econs this yr...
So i believe these 2 depts have worked hard on it... πŸ˜„

I think the RV e-learning day is err... Too much. I am wondering whether there is any coordination among teachers or it is meant to a stress test? Almost all subjects have sth for the students, worst still, deadline like 1130am, 12pm, etc.. Sigh... Is e-learning supposed to be this way?????

Agreed. What is the purpose of having a deadline like 11.30am, noon? I told dd dont bother and just try her best. If she can't finish her homework, I will step in to explain to her teachers. She woke up at 7am to start doing her work. I thought at least she could have a relax time at home πŸ˜‚

                NightFury:
River Valley High School Integrated Programme graduates have continued to perform well in the GCE β€˜A’ Levels Examination. The school’s small cohort of 415 students produced 68 students with 6 or more distinctions.

NJC 108 students scored 6 distinctions or more from ~750 students .
NJC's cohort size is around 550. still better, in terms of percentage.

                  Just for your info.

                  RV A level results

2010: 43% with at least 3 H2 distinctions (that mean three H2 As)
                  2011: 44% with at least 3 H2 distinctions
                  2012: 37% with at least 3H2 distinctions
                  2013: 27.5% with at least 3H2 distinctions

You don’t have to compare with other JCs. Just compare with own results and you will know what you are capable of achieving but did not achieve this year. The first two batches have no permanent campus and have to shift around 2 times and yet they achieved it.

I am confident that the result will bounce back if you work harder and stop being too complacent.

This coming 2014 JC2 batch should be slightly weaker than the first two batches but should be stronger than the 2012 and 2013 batches.

I hope your forecast is wrong.
I would like to see the current JC2 batch excel in the upcoming A level exams.

I hope that my prediction is wrong too and am also waiting for a record breaking batch.
