Those 6 autistic kids -
Very poor thing. -
But the parents said that they are blessed. I think we should learn from them to see the blessings of having an Autistic kid which others can’t see. I tell myself this every day even during this period when my boy is easily irritable, testing my hubby and my patience every day.

And check out this video, a happier one about Autism.

Double E, :hugs:
Any triggers? During such phases might help if the strategy is to conserve energy and get by until we get out of the phase.
Jan was quite a bad month for my doter too, due to the new school environment. So it was a period to get by with the baseline and conserve energy. Now that she is back on track, we can advance again.
Take it as a break to prepare for the next leap.

Hi all, been a long time since I popped in here. Nice to see new faces and continued support for each other. Jia you! Fighting!
On a positive note, do you find ASD kids especially endearing? At the risk of sounding bias being parents and all, I noticed that adults that they encounter in their daily lives i.e. teachers, get very attached to my boys and they always say that their heart melt and they find them very cute etc. Almost all go the extra mile to accommodate them and I don’t feel that it’s out of pity or reluctance to cater to their condition either. Maybe they are less cynical, selfish and cunning than NT kids. Some intangible X-factor which should bode well in the real world. :imcool: -

I think it depends on the teachers. My boy's N2 teacher is very nice and she will tell me she misses him now that he is in K1. But his current K1 teacher looks stern and poker face, I can hardly detect anything from her facial expression. And needless to say, she won't tell me if my boy is cute or not. I count my blessings as long as I don't hear any complaints from her. http://www.kiasuparents.com/kiasu/forum ... p=1234549#Hi all, been a long time since I popped in here. There's no change in change in environment or whatsoever. Is more of him insisting on his wants, being impatient and us parents refusing to give in to all his demands. Another situation is him taking his own sweet time to wear socks, brush teeth etc. Such hard times fluctuate, sometimes he will be such a sweet boy and will listen to our explanation or accept an alternative when we tell him he can't do what he wants. Then there are periods that whatever we say just could not get into his mysterious brain and he will throw a fit by crying and stamping his feet in the public.Double E, :hugs:

Hi mommies,
My DS jumped 2cm off the ground twice yesterday! So happy!
Hi Belachanbabe,
For my son, I feel that so far I have blessed to meet alot of ‘gui4 ren2’, who has guided me for therapy choices etc. His school teachers and principal also take special care of him in school. When God closes 1 door, He will open another. -

Congrats! And good luck after that. Lol. After my son learned to jump and hop when he's k2 I think, he does that wherever he goes. Now I've to tell him to stop jumping and hopping around. Lol.Hi mommies,
