The book may be out of stock.
Try Knowledge Book Store at Bras Basah. Its an old timer in the mkt and is also an established bookstore selling 2nd hand books. You might find it there.
If not, perhaps this might help you for the time being ...

BTW, cable tv channel 82 is showing the movie. Try and watch it if you can

I have also read SparkNotes before.
Another thing is, I don't have cable TV.

okie ... if its out of stock, then I suppose you may have to 'sit it out' a while. Actually, for stores like Popular, you can request to make an order of the book and you shd be able to get it w/i a few days. I am surprised that knowledge book store doesn't even have it in their 2nd hand section.
Has your Dad tried other stores like Borders?? They used to carry the cliff/york notes series. You may want to look into that?
If its urgent, you may want to order from online.
No cable tv .... hmmm, could watch it over at a frd's place? Also not sure if the lib may have the movie, then you can borrow or could purchase the movie from Poh Kim (if they are selling)
Just suggesting that you watch the movie if you can cuz plot set in a different era, also nature of story entails one to understand southern culture, dialect way of life and mindset.
You must be in Sec 1 I assume??

Hi daisyt and anyone reading Emily of Emerald Hill as a Lit text,I am waiting if any theatre group would stage \"Emily of Emerald Hill\", a monologue which sounds interesting to me.
Went to watch \"Bedroom\" last year, also about penarakan culture like \"Emily\". Nice ....
Just read in the papers that there will be a staging of Emily of Emerald Hill in June during the Singapore Arts Festival. Margaret Chan will be reprising her role once again.
Perhaps you may want to check with Sistic .....

Thanks for your suggestions, but it seems Popular doesn't have any literature guide books... My dad and I once made a trip there and we asked the staff if there were any guide books on Of Mice and Men but they said they only had the book itself.
Ooh And, I think Of Mice and Men is available on youtube so I'll watch it one of these days... since I have a couple days off due to Chinese New Year
I might consider ordering from online. But it's okay. I think I'd better rely on the book itself. A little careful reading is all it takes, and I'll score really good marks. There are also many guides on Of Mice And Men on the Internet so I guess I won't spend money to buy a guide after all. Thanks for your help! And yes, I'm a Sec 1 Student. ^^ -
