I dont dare to try ice skating as I worry for my old bones.

oh yes :please:ngl2010:
Or bowling or watch Captain America :please:
Yesss... any where's safe with Captain America. -
ladies, I hope you understand why I am upset with this lousy idea of ice-skating. he just didn’t think of the target audience…they are not sec or poly age kids.
I refused to go along because I do not want to break my bones. -

I'm referring to Janet's dh offce event. No training whatsoever just go ice skating at an event like that. Definitely a no-no to me.buds:
would forbid my dh to skate.
I'm ok with us/him trying something new. My dad learnt to blade together with us when we were in our teens. He refreshed his skills again when dd1 learnt to blade. We learnt how to fall properly first. Falling properly is not only a little pretty but safer and it'll help prevent both young and old bones from unwanted injury. He read abt it, he watched coaches and other families play, he bought a pair himself too. He had all paddings on and wore thicker pants.
I suppose for first time sport activity going under an informed instructor is fine when one is older? My dad still blades when we have beach outings. Hubs can skate, blade, skoot, skate and stunt effortlessly. He's the one always poking fun at me. :pokeeye: I'm the one with the swollen bumsies.
I know my dh would agree with me. I can be very convincing when I need to persuade him.
Dh has been prompting me to learn roller blading with our girls. Need 4 people to form a group so that coach will come to our place. I told him to count me out, my 运动细胞 is retarded, can't teach an old dog (me) new tricks.
My family learnt to blade 3 years back. Now, DC can blade confidently & DH is proficient in it. I'm lousy in it. Cushy butt didn't help when I fell. But it was good fun for the family. Didn't get a private coach. Went to West Coast Park where they had group blading lessons. So for 3 months, we were parked at West Coast Park from 1.30pm to 6pm every weekend. We became dark brown during that period. -
I am not a thrill-seeker...and definitely do not want to risk breaking my bones for an activity...but shopping is definitely great because I exercise in the air con and stimulate my brain when I see worth buys :rotflmao:

Sun :scared: wow super big no-no-no for me.
I won't be exposed for more than 10 mins under the sun. Even crossing a short stretch of traffic light, I will fish out my umbrella diligently. Absolutely no outdoor activities for me. keke, I know my dh is nice to accommodate all my paranoia so far. He will help me to shield some uv with newspapers or my handbag or pick a longer route with shelter if no umbrella.
Sun is the number 1 reason why I flatly refuse to play golf with dh. Again, he prompted me many times, told me many female Korean golfers still 白白 wah and golf wear very pretty. He only expects me to watch him play and enjoy scenery. I can drive the buggy and sit there, no need to leave the buggy if too hot. Nope, no deal. All my anti-ageing effort will 前功尽弃 with so much sun exposure. Sorry to disappoint him -
I fish out an umbrella only when it rains…avoid the sun from 11am-4pm as much as possible…slapping on sun block on the face & neck before leaving the house.

I apply sunblock on face and bring umbrella. I even have a pair of slip-on sleeves on standby, to slip on anytime because I don't usually apply sunblock on arms -

Yes, agree. Actually if for team retreat can also include an instructor.I'm referring to Janet's dh offce event. No training whatsoever just go ice skating at an event like that. Definitely a no-no to me.

Convincing persuasion.. Ahh yess.. that, I'm sure. :evil:I know my dh would agree with me. I can be very convincing when I need to persuade him.
Some of my friends used to say it's better to get married to someone who loves you more. This type of spouse will be totally devoted, sensitive, takes initiative, wants to always make u happy and will feel that tug in his heart if you feel hurt or cry.
From your postings, you are really blessed with an awesome and endearing hubby. You're really blessed. Your DH treats you like a princess. He's totally into you, from the time you were first together till today.
I didn't get to marry someone like that. I'm already happy if he's not so strict and fierce all the time. He's better now. I also that find with him (hubs) the reward system works wonders but too much work and he's no longer a child. :politebleah:sleepy:
I think also depends on how outdoorsy a person is.Dh has been prompting me to learn roller blading with our girls. Need 4 people to form a group so that coach will come to our place. I told him to count me out, my 运动细胞 is retarded, can't teach an old dog (me) new tricks.
I'm quite game-on with outdoor recreation as I'm a sporty person by nature. I still hit the basketball court with my family and we will shoot hoops together and all of us play soccer as well. We also like different (separate) sports. Hubs and DD1 would be skateboarding or blading, dd2 skooting and I bring the boys cycling on days we are having outdoor time. But in short all of us are sporting enough to try out a new sport at least once. -

I'm still lousy at it. :politebleah: One can't be good at everything, aye? My oredi big butt got bigger each time I fell I think.
I won a parent and child blading trial with a rollerblading team that tied up with a parents' magazine. My Daddie brought us there and we got our refresher. We self-taught ourselves the first time around with what we read & info gathered online, on TV and from frenz who are already pretty good bladers.
We started on grass patch first, for falling lessons. We did our blading at either ECP or Sentosa. At times we all dunked into the cool sea water for a cool swim before we head out for lunch or dinner. So all of us were pretty much not just honey glazed but yes, really tan.
The bonding experience... priceless. The children still remember it till today.
bb_mom.. I'm not that good with these blading, skateboarding wat nots but I'm good when wet. Hubs says my family were born half human half fish. :rotflmao: He only knows the doggie. You know how dogs paddle and kick their paws in water?
He's better now though but till today when we are out at the beach he would remind me not to swim too far out coz he can't go out there to save me. :imdrowning: :rotflmao:
