I believe a child should learn things in school and after school, back home, they should revise their work, and not do MORE work after school. That's just my opinion anyway.

That's just my opinion anyway.[/quote]Well, I guess I expected busier S1 days. But a gradual beginning is good so they don't be too overcome by the workload. My friends of S1 said their kids are already loaded with projects and tests at this time, unlike DS.

erm....my DS is pretty bz with his D&T stuff (just finish a project on Gears) and he do have homework on daily basis, manageable though. Only Wed he felt a bit taxing cos' of the CCA that ends at 6pm. Just had his Maths test this week. Abt the Geo test, his teacher just return the papers to them....I'm glad that he did fairly well.

I guess, S1 still can consider \"honeymoon\" as what their teacher suggest. Take it easy.....let's just enjoy the honey and the moon now before the bees come charging!!

I agree!! I, too believe that most importantly, they should at best pay attention during lesson and revise their work at home. Frankly, i personally feel that they really do not have much \"extra\" time for MORE work at home.

I sent in 2 feedbacks and didn't get a reply. Then the whole thing just disappeared. How :?

H Blitz, Happy New Year! Didn’t notice the missing Feedback menu item until you mentioned it. Guess you have to send emails to the teachers instead. In the past, we sometimes have to send more than one email to different people before we get any attention, because the first email was missed.

Is it uncommon for form teachers to give away their hp numbers to parents for contact? It was so in primary sch. But since we never receive any from S1, so i’m wondering about it. And MintLeaf mentioned have to send a few emails to get attention? This is so different from pri sch, where the email recipients usually reply quite promptly…

Anyone knows what chinese electronic dictionary is approved for use during class and exams? DS asking to get the P6 Besta one but not sure if there’s a better one for S1?


Also, when does the year end exam usually take place? Are the school terms and holidays same as primary school?

So far we haven't been given the teachers' mobile numbers. There was only one occasion when we somehow got Paul Leong's number.

DS is still using the P6 Chinese electronic dictionary. And I just checked some of his exam papers last year. There was one on 2 Oct and another on 7 Oct, so SA2 is around early Oct. His holiday began at the start of November, hence it was earlier than the primary schools. This luxury is only for the lower secondary. I am pretty sure the S3 would start their holiday at least 2 weeks later.

By the way, next week is CA. After CA1, there should be a meet-the-parent session.

I guess I'll just have to buy another Besta for DS then. DS's younger brother prefers his Besta over his own Creative.

Thanks for the info about the hols. Wish the school has a year calendar so that we can see the mths ahead. So far I've only seen the offer of S1 Entreprenuer Program in June. Really appreciative that they inform us early of such programs. I wonder are there other programs or classes/ supps to call them back to school in June? Would 3rd wk of Jun be a good time to go away?
