Hi, I know i’m being super ‘kiasu’ in checking into this thread as my son is now only 11 months old. Being a Buddhist and a vegetarian, I’m considering to enroll him there when he turns 3.


Can anyone share with me the kids’ experience with this centre? What is the student to teacher ratio? Do you think the programs they have are sufficient to prepare the kids for Pri 1 education?

The Childcare feed the kids with milk, cheese and egg so depend how strict when u mean vegetarian.

Both my kids love the center n the teachers. The teachers are very attentive and they will report to the parents if there is anything of concern.

My ger is in K1 now and the class is 18 kids to 2 teachers (English & Chinese).

My boy in N1 is ard 18 kids to 3 teachers.

TaiPei CC is quite a popular CC ard that area so not surprising that the number of students per class can be quite huge but reassure that all the kids are very well taken care of.

My ger in K1 is undergoing English and Mandarin spelling. They have Math, & Science as well. I find the school standard is pretty high and has started to prepare my ger for primary school education.

The teachers always welcome parents to discuss about the kids progress.

U can always visit them when ur kid is able time for enrolment.

May I ask you, usually when will parents start calling up and 'chopping' a place for their kids in CC?

My colleague had advised me to start early in calling up and registering at a few CCs for my son. As she had experienced long waiting lists in several CCs when she tried to enroll her son for N1 several years back. She said even CC that are not popular will also have long waiting list (some maybe > 2years) ..

Hi,

I dun think u need to register that early. U can try to enquiry when ur son is 2.5yo and may be asked if u can reserve a seat for ur child.

Hi Jogan, really appreciate if you can answer some of my queries.


May I know at what age did your daughter start schooling there? Half day or full day? (I intend to opt for half day for my son when he turns 3) How does she find the teachers and school environment? What is the school curriculum like?

My gal start there when she is 3 yo (N1). This year will be her last year there.

Their class starts at 9.30am. Those children reaches the center before that will watch TV. Don’t know what time they will serve the breakfast till what time (cos usually i will let my gal had had her breakfast at home)

I suggest u put him there full day cos around 11am. They will start toileting, lunch, bath, storytelling then nap. Usually they wake up at aroung 2pm. If you opt for half day by 2 pm you have to bring him back.

N2 they willl hv wkend homework to do. Something i was very impressed with the N2 teachers is they managed to teach those children how to write their name (both english and chinese)

K1 will have spelling and ting xie…

I sent my ger straight for full day cos she had previously attended N1 & N2 classes at a church kindy so I dun expect her to cry bucket if I switch her to Childcare.

For my boy, I started him with half day for the 1st day, on the 2nd day I switch him to full day immediately as I realised he found a teacher that he found comfort with. I did it in a very hard hearted way but I also believe kid can adapt much much better in most environment.

Of course I trusted the teachers there. SO far my kids do not fall sick that easily and I dun really have any complaints abt the teachers there. Althot one of my friend did raise a concern of one teacher last yr and she has left the centre in 2010.
