How about using liquid paper instead of correction tape.
Messy -

if it is a long sentence, use a ruler to strike across neatly.
What are the alternatives to correction tape. DS is so used to it :scared:keborah:
try to discourage use of correction tape.
I was using it the other on my table calendar...guess what, it doesn't stick.
this reminded me of the time I kept up the correction tape from son when he was sitting for his psle.
if it is just a word or 2, strike neatly.
the exam scripts are stacked tightly on each other for 2 months before marking...what if the tape to blank out the area is stuck to the paper on top? what should not be seen will be.
Never thought of that. Good point! -
I did experiment on Whiper PLUS correction tape last year. It should be ok to use for PSLE. The tape to blank out the area does NOT stuck to the paper on top after 5 weeks. You can do the same experiment with your type of correction tape too.

Isnβt correction tape banned in PSLE exam?

I've tried discouraging dd to no avail last year. It made her more nervous and less careful. :slapshead: She would fidget and grab for it. So during our study sessions I put away n got her to cancel. On the day of first written paper, she came home telling me she didn't dare use correction tape because the paper is not like normal paper. :scared: I asked her, \"Then what type of paper was it?\"
DD says its kinda a little slippery or glossy (I forgot the word she used to describe.. :oops) type. Not pure matte.
Mebbe it was, mebbe it wasn't a slippery paper. I'm not sure cos I didn't personally feel. Perhaps she just chickened out from using it at the last minute........ you know, just in case.
Just sharing DD's experience. -

So is it highly discouraged to use correction tape then? -

I let DS use correction tape liberally last year because I was worried that it will affect his concentration during PSLE if I insist no/reduce correction tape. I asked his FT and his FT didn't say not to use or to reduce so I let him use correction tape as much as he wants. It is hard to change habits within a few months time. I was worried that DS will be more concerned about neatness of his answers instead of the quality of his answers so I let him continue using his correction tape as usual. The most I can do was to do an experiment on the quality of his correction tape. I didn't know that the type of the paper is different but I would still let DS use the correction tape as usual had I known the papers are glossy/slippery because I believe his teachers will ban the children from using correction tapes if the PSLE papers are un-correctiontape-able.

Yes, babe. After DD's \"withdrawal\" symptoms when I asked her to refrain from using it, I too allowed liberal use of it. It's hard to concentrate on studying when too conscious about neatness.I let DS use correction tape liberally last year because I was worried that it will affect his concentration during PSLE if I insist no/reduce correction tape. As I have shared earlier, I'm not even sure if it was really a different paper type. Just that DD mentioned it was not pure matte. It's not glossy either like glossy photo paper, arrgh, just don't know how to put it in words. It was her perception that it was not exactly like normal writing paper. Again, it could be just her. Nervous and cautious.
DD was only sharing that she was conscious of correction tape usage last year and I was surprised she said she totally didn't use it. Worse off, she was also too used to inkish pen as the ink flows better for writing, not tiring on the fingers to complete the tons of work during PSLE year. Even with inkish pens, she still had blisters on her writing fingers. PSLE year really a lot of drilling. Once again, it was a battle to dissuade usage of those pens but for PSLE I bought a new smaller pencil case just enough to put necessary items (her actual case has loads of stationery) with 2B pencils, ball point pens with rubber grip, erasers, ruler... She still included her inkish pens but ended up not using them too.
No teachers in her old school mentioned of any ban on correction tape either. Just did not encourage. No teachers mentioned of paper type either. Merely sharing DD's experience. Not necessary to be overly concerned over stationery as long as within lines of the approved ones. Just concentrate on putting best foot forward for the final exams.
