If I remember correctly, the bookshop in DS’s school was selling calculator cheaper than Popular. So, before you buy from Popular, it is good to ask your DC to check the calculator price in their school bookshop.

        buy from school...cheaper than popular.
I remember son bought his creative Chinese dictionary from school. he likes it and finds it easier and faster finding what he wanted. uses either AAA or AA batteries.

the creative Chinese dictionary should be the same one whether bought from school or Popular. Likely, the price is the same as well.

I noticed most school textbooks are selling slightly cheaper at Popular than the school bookshop though, if ordered online or with member's discount.

problem is not all books can be purchased from popular…can save 5% using the popular member card. because I have to get exercise books/files, I would rather get all from school instead of running 2 places.

Actually, you dont need to buy exercise books/files before the start of the year.

Based on past experience, my kids always have balance of exercise books/files, so I play smart now.

We will not buy at one go but anytime during the year, my kids will go to school bookshop to purchase whatever is needed.

This way, also no heart pain to see so much $$ spent on yearend buying n saving trees as well.

I buy textbooks from Popular. Can go anytime at my convenience, and when dh is with me to help carry the purchases 😉

All other materials that carries the sch logo or specific use by the sch, dd will buy from sch bookshop on her own, as n when the need arises. Less clatter on the bookshelves, too.

                    much easier with alkaline batteries.

                    don’t use too strong batteries.
make sure kids’ spectacles are in shape.
get a clear case from popular…big enough to store set square, ruler, pencils, pens, erasers.
