Write email officially, to Nan Hua primary schoolHi parents
My kids are in pri 1 this year.
We will b shifting to clementi 3 yrs later. Our new house is jus across the road from NHPS.
I'm considering whether to transfer my kids to NHPS. what is the success rate of transferring to NHPS compared to other pri sch in clementi?
Thanks in advance.

Ask them whether got any vacancies for Transfer, now.
School will reply you - within 3 to 4 working days.
If their reply is positive -
then you submit wait list form + all necessary, supporting documents, to support your child's transfer :-

Hi,
like to hear some feedback from the sch from the parents here. Is it stressful? And hows the teachers in NH?
Im an ‘old girl’ of NH but im staying really faraway. If I were to put my gal at NH we either hv to shift hse or my gal has to wake up very early if P1 is in the morning session. She will be in P1 in 2015. We only hv 2 choices, go for NH or ballot at Rosyth which is near my place. But its very risky cos Rosyth is a popular sch too. Really in a dilemma. -
hi, may I know if there is any parents staying in Queenstown with your kid in Nan Hwa now?

Same like you, I am old girl of NH and I also stay within 1KM of Rosyth! But I know Rosyth is so damn popular and sure hit balloting for Phase 2C even within 1KM. So I am not taking that risk for balloting and end up in Phase 2C supp. I am planning my twin girls to go NH too for P1 in 2015. Will register under my parent's address which is just 2 bus stop away. As my mum is the caregiver, so it's easier for the kids too. I did plan to shift to Clementi but for time being, probably will just stay with my parent first from Mon-Fri till I found a suitable flat to move.
Think you also need to see who is the main caregiver after your child dismiss from school? If it's go back your own house, then it doesn't makes sense to come all the way to Clementi just to study. It will be tiring for the kid too. Otherwise you can look out for other school around your area that doesn't have high balloting risk? -
Hi lywong, I’m in a dilemma too. I’m the main caregiver. If I were to put my gal in NH I’ve to shift to Clementi n I’ve 2 mths to decide!!! But rosyth is too competitive.

Hi custardberry,
This year we are getting even more competitive because of the first 40 slots will be taken out for phase 2B/2C registerants. So for NH base on past year records and trend, likely this year Phase 2A2 more than 2KM will start to ballot liao… -

Yes, some seats likely this year to be seized from Phase 2A(2) -

So for NH base on past year records and trend, likely this year Phase 2A2 more than 2KM will start to ballot liao...
given to (2B + 2C).
question is seized from which group, inside 2A(2) ?
From SC staying (within 1 to 2 km), or exceed 2 km ?
If balloting occur within 1 to 2 km -
All parents staying beyond 2 km, are out !
They have to enrol their child, in some other school(s).
The reason why it may be possible for balloting to occur within 1 to 2 km -
Is because those more than 2 km are afraid.
they try to overcome problem, by using the child's grandparents address to enrol their kid in.
Ie. if they happen to have grandparents, staying nearby Nan Hua.
(If a surge in the number of > 2 km parents adopt this strategy)
If use grandparents' address, those initially under > 2 km, now fall within 2 km instead. Isn't this better ?
Another possibility is :-
there may also be > 2 km 2A(2) parents last minute
Rent houses within 1 km, just to make sure that their kid can enter back into Nan Hua alma mater.
So end up :-
a lot of parents inside (less than 1 km + within 1 to 2 km), these two distance group.
Once balloting occur inside 2A(2) :-
All PRs are the first to go.
Priority go to SC first.
http://www.moe.gov.sg/education/admissi ... llocation/
So 2A(2) PRs -
be mentally prepared, for this year to happen.
Have standby plan -
If Phase 2a(2) parents staying > 2 km rush to rent house < 1 km last minute before P1 July registration, not sure if Nan Hua school spot check on regular basis each Term, to see if any parent had shifted back to their original house > 2 km, after some months.
If any parent caught, not sure how The school handle them.
You should find out from school -
is there any minimum period required to stay in that address used to enrol your child for P1, into Nan Hua ?
… is it must stay at the same address, throughout (P1 to P6) ?
But what if people shift house one day, after certain years ?
when you register on actual day -
there is a section inside that P1 registration form that ask parents:
how far are you staying from Nan Hua ?
parents have to speak the Truth, cannot tell lie.
because parents need to to sign on this form. -

You mean if you stayed very far from NH but you are using grandparents address which is near to the school to register, they will consider not putting you within 1-2km category? But we have plans to stay at parent place Mon-Fri, and go back home during wkend. And also planning to move to Clementi in near future if we can find a right house. Will all these take into consideration? Do they care how you plan your logistic if you are using grandparent's address?
