She was my favourite Chinese singer. Used to like her songs like 橄榄树， 欢颜…but that was so long ago…I wasn’t aware she’s still singing and cutting albums.
Another one who has such voice like Chiyi is 彭玲. Also very beautiful voice, so soothing yet with a touch of emotion there. I always think it’s best to listen to them when you are in a candlelight place surrounded only by their songs… -
Yes, I know her more for her Mandarin songs. Unfortunately, the lyrics
are too difficult for many to comprehend. Maybe that's why few here
know her Mandarin songs.

You mean she's old? I thought Qi Qin is quite old, so she should be daughter or something. She doesn't look old.

Her Chinese songs usually have deeper meanings than the usual ones, so sometime hard to appeal to masses. She also sang quite meaningful English songs - Vincent; Whoever Finds This, I Love You.

You mean Qi Qin's sister? Then, yes, I knew of her since my sch days but I don't listen to her songs. I don't listen much to Chinese songs anyway.
I have a copy of her CD (only English songs). Particularly like the song: Stories.

Hey, I got exactly the same reaction. But it's not the kind whereby the song is badly sang. It's a kind of ghostly yet captivating voice. I was listening the song in total darkness - except for my notebook - and after 3 sec I quickly switched on the light. Too eerie already. But beautiful.Listening now. Gosh, she's really good. Goose bumps now!
She sounds like she should be a Scottish lass singing those old haunting English ballades...
