        Hi Jme,

My son is starting his new school next Monday. I am allowed to sit in for 3 days and I am having the jitters thinking about it. Very bad mood swing this week and super emotional and weepy. Haizz.., really need to keep my emotion in check. Sometimes think I should go and see a psychologist.
I know this feeling. Not frequent but it happened before. I will take lithium n vitamin D for about 2 days then I am back to good again. perhaps u are too stressed up. Look for someone to help u if possible. Take care .

          Thanks sembgal, mashy and ImMeeMee.

I’ve called quite a no. of schools and spoken to the principal or aed. Hopefully when the time comes for the registration which is 2 mths away, I can make the right decision.

There’s some truth to the b-lister theory. All things being equal, ARC students will get a place in Pathlight over others.

First-hand experience: My boy was not from ARC or one of those governmental EIPIC centers. I had a place at the Simei centre after a 12 mth wait but had to give it up due to the unrealistic logistical problems. Who has time to go thrice a week for 3 hrs when you are a FTWM? The when it finally came to registering for PL, those of you who know my story know that my boy had to endure 3 separate assessments before he was finally accepted into PL end of last year.

IT WAS HELL and am still somewhat emotionally scarred.

While it ended well, looking back; please go the ARC route if you are given the opportunity and try your best to see if you can handle the logistics somehow. Supplement with private special needs tuition if you can afford it. And tell yourself it is only for a couple of years. :xedfingers:

                Hi there,

Both DS and me survived 1st day of his new pre-school! New school curriculum is much more structured in terms of play and the student is expected to sit down more too. My son is able to follow lesson with lots of modeling/prompting from me or teachers. Sigh… Really different from his playgroup where there are lots of free play time and circle time is just 30mins and there are a lot of hands-on activities.

But never mind, first day only. Hopefully my son can adapt and settle down. When we finished school, he said ‘don’t want go school, go exercise (he means OT)’. Sigh…

                  Just to share :

The close friend whose child has ASD just got his Project Work (PW) grade for A level. He managed an A! My friend was ecstatic as she put in q.a lot of effort to guide him all the way from selection of topic under the theme to oral presentation in front of panel of judges. She was esp worried for the presentation as her child still has problems with eye contact and speech.

                  🕺

Have received the MT exemption letter. It doesn't state the reason for exemption, merely that it has been approved. So don't have to worry that they will write the condition in which it was approved. 🙂 if next time asked during interview, this paper also won't become a problem.

At most interviewers may notice O Level & A Level cert doesn't have MT. I was equally happy that the approval letter didn't state reason for exemption. Otherwise, DS would know & use this as a reason why he can't study the other subjects.

Hi Mashy, will your son still be able to attend MT lessons even though he is exempted from the tests and exams?
