can i check if there is a screening exercise for all the children going into P1? in what areas?
what screening?
I only saw a 'pre-school' survey that comes with the P1 registration form -
phankao:
screening meant that to gauge the level of the child in academic skill to place him in the appropriate class and supp lesson.lchunleo:

I have a boy going into P1 next year. You too? -
My boys (now in P2 and P3) didn’t go through any screening to be placed in any class. All the classes mixed abilities at P1, and P2 no change of class.
They used to have best class etc when students go from P2 to P3, but even that has been scrapped. The P3’s now also mixed abilities. I think it will stay that way til P5.
As for supplementary class, I not sure about this. But I think not so soon. P1 is quite a "relaxing" year. -

Hi
I like to find out more about the choir and SPHERE. Any parents whose boys in these CCAs?
Thanks.
Sorry my reply here late. But in case you still need info, what would you like to know about Choir? -

-
hi, anyone here registering for p1 this year?
-
let's take a look at
Last year (2013) P1 registration, at Catholic High primary
may refer
http://www.kiasuparents.com/kiasu/event ... -phase-2a2
Total vacancy = 240
@ end of Phase 2A1 (alumni) : 68 % Taken Up
balance = 32 % left : for Phase 2A2 (ex-students), 2B & 2C
( 0.32 x 240 ) = 77 seats left
If reserve \"40 compulsory seats\" -
means 2A2 will be allocated (77 - 40) = 37 seats.
But, how many actually registered at 2A2 ?
20 % (ie. 0.2 x 240) = 48 boys registered
means 2A2 fall short of (48 -37) = 11 seats
means eleven CHS boys would have been balloted out at Phase 2A2, last year (2013)
This year (2014) -
Total vacancy same as 2013 : 240

The reservation starts from phase 1. For example, the total available vacancies for phase 1 at Catholic High is 200.
