All About Full-Time Maids

Mummy Dadeda:
My mum's ex-maid also did the same thing! Sneaked out in the middle of the night while we are all sleeping and only come back in the wee hours of the morning. We didn't know it at first but found it strange that despite her going to bed early, she was still very tired in the morning and will fall asleep while doing housework! Subsequently, a Bangladeshi man called my house to spill the beans on her! Apparently she leaves the house when everyone has gone to bed then met her BF in the forest to have a good time. Sometimes, a few men were involved at the same time!! :censored: :yikes: The only reason why the man called to bao tou her was becos she ditched his bro and his bro was devastated and wanted to end his life so he called to complain about her...so drama, right? :spank:
My mum ex-maid had this habit too. It seems it was a twice weekly affair on weekdays. The neighbor saw her leaving and informed my mum. We investigated and found that a van came to pick up the maids in the neighborhood and brought them to construction site for prostitution! If not, without public transport in the night, how they go out and come back speedily? We sent the maid back immediately.skvn:

Hi did you withhold a month of her salary or made her pay for air-ticket first? My agent advised me to do either 1. My Myanmar helper requested to go back for home leave 4 months earlier..I checked with my friend's maid who is fm mynmar and just went home visit last dec..
No need the tax payment document..
And realised there were signs that she is not coming back..
she took every single piece of clothing with her this time..
And i helped her remitted S$2k and changed s $500 cash to mynmar currency..
She should have $ to call us..
Anyway, surprisingly I am not angry with her, just disappointed that she was not upfront and caught us off guard.
Still feel thankful for her help for past 3.5yr
And hope is not coz something bad happened to her..
Planned to bring her go USS in june and Bangkok in nov..lucky I haven't bought air tickets yet..somehow, has hunch that I should not book 1st..
told myself to wait for her to come back 1st:) -

Some employers do that when the maid goes on home leave.
But employers are not allowed to do so.
If anyone should get into trouble for that, it would be you. -

Do all maids contract come with savings, some agents put a savings for the employer to safe keep and to be returned when maid leaves or to be used for any emergency.

I have been reading the posts here... Sad to say, employers are now left at the mercy of maids and employment agencies.
Yes, to ensure that the bad bugs do not get passed to other employers, the right thing to do is to send the maid back home for those with bad attitude and lousy track records. However, for those with outstanding loan, sending then home would means that they employers need to bear the full loan amount themselves. Maybe some need policy/insurance coverage where employers can claim for such damages when it's the maid who wants to go home?

Yes, if there are such insurance I would gladly sign up for it! It's time the G does something to protect us employers when the maids want to go home on their own accord and when they simply want a transfer to another employer who reportedly offered her a higher pay! And pls shut down those pesky agents who target maids who are already working here by tempting them with higher pay and shorter working hours! Unscrupulous! And to ang MOHs out there, pls don't spoil market and offer salary of $700-$750! Any maid upon hearing it will of course jump ship at the expense of the employer, leaving them high and dry...I have been reading the posts here... Agencies are happy to encourage maids to transfer because they make 2 mth ($1000) from the maid on top of other fees they charged to new employers. So when you maid uses her handphone to call her agent, the agent will say, 'Not happy? transfer lar'. Agents are no longer on employers' side.iemum:

Actually yes majority agencies will comply with the maid but not all, last time when my maid wanted to transfer, my agent straightaway tell her " you want me to blacklist you " if employer good you must work," but that time that girl was a fresh maid… so my agent normally tries to scare the maid so that the maid doesn’t transfer.
