-
phtthp, spot on !! the heat is really ON now since reg dates are out…I reg for the P1 seminar at SengKang Pri and then realized Nan Chiau Pri is not one of the participating schools…anyway, I will still attend to undertsand more on Pri education …
I anticipate this year’s P1 reg will be more competitive than last year…dont know why I have this feeling…i guess partially because more mousy than piggy. -

You will not receive any letter from moe. You should take note of the date for the phase you are in and proceed to your desired school to register your child for P1.I am getting really nervous now after seeing the registration dates..
For those experience ones, so what's the procedure like?
First I will received some letters from MOE saying my child is due for P1 registration?
Then I will prepare all relevant documents and go to the school on the specificied date for my Phase and register with the school?
Then wait for results announce (where?) - through letter to inform?
Anything I need to prepare BEFORE the registeration date comes besides going to MOE to declare statutory address?
I can't recall the exact documents I prepared 8 years ago. What I can remember are: child's bc, my ic, vaccination cert and my husband's report book (for 2A2).
As for result announcement, for earlier phases, schools will be able to tell you on the spot that your child is registered while at phase 2C, if there is balloting conducted, you will be informed on the spot if you are present. -

With online registration for all schools during ph 2c this year, when we physically go to school to submit our application during ph 2c, will the staff at the school still be able to tell us how many \"within 1km\" applications received so far? Will be monitoring application rate at two schools concurrently for ph2c, in case last minute need to withdraw application from one school to register the other school...online registration is for all schools this year at Phase 2C and Phase 2Csupp but do take note of the dates difference with the site registration....

I am getting nervous too... :nailbite: -
okie:
as long as application for that particular Phase is not closed yet for that Day -

the \"live\" figures can keep changing. (not stable)
Funny thing is there are parents who like to trot in last minute -
after 4 pm. That's when the adrenalin pumping fast.
Because enrolment keep coming in, or parents may withdraw, go to some other school.
only around 4 pm towards close of Registration day then will the figures finalize.
Normally any balloting within which distance range -
will be announced around 4 pm, or earlier after 3.30 pm.
The Officer in charge may call you, or SMS you -
to withdraw if too many parents enrol & you have no chance to ballot at all, or to ballot.
Is better to be at the actual school premises, check \"live\" data.
Very difficult to get through telephone line, often can't get through, during peak period.
Sometimes over phone, there're admin staff refused to disclose figures.
Because they have not yet received the actual updated figures, from those Registration staff, on duty.
Sometimes, the admin staff only get regular update from Registration staff twice per day: around 11.30 am just before lunch at 12 noon, or receive update after 2 pm. (after lunch)
but then, the figures will change again.
So make sure : you go down to the school, physically -
hang around the Registration counter.
To get \"live\" data, is better to go in the afternoon, after 3 pm.
In the morning, the figures keep changing. (not stable)
Funny thing is there're some parents who like to trot in last minute, after 4 pm.
That's when the adrenaline pumping fast.
because initially there're some parents > 2 km thought they stand a chance.
Then last minute suddenly a drove of parents staying within 1 km or within (1 to 2 km) from Popular schools. turn up last minute to register around 4 pm -
knocking those > 2km totally zero chance. -

Rata, thanks for the link. Thought MOE will only announce the reg phases end of May.
Just went in to take a look and don't know why, like lywong, I am getting nervous suddenly ..lol..gosh..so excited..am still comtemplating between Nan Chiau Pri and st Gabriels....still have slightly more than 2 months to decide...
Once the dates officially out, the Heat is on !!!
Drum starting rolling, beating -
phtthp:
Thanks! From your experience, should we take leave from office for all 3 days of ph2c, to hang around both school (s), or just take leave on day 3, 1 Aug only?
as long as application for that particular Phase is not closed yet for that Day -okie:

Take leave only on the last day of Phase 2C.
Because the greatest amount of activity occur on the LAST day of Phase 2C, esp. after 3 pm onwards, until 4.30 pm.
A lot of last minute withdrawal from parents who realize they stand no chance, got to enrol in some other schools.
+ a lot of parents walking in to enrol, ESP. Those less than 1 km, or within 2 km.
First 2 days of Phase 2C -
No need to take leave.
People just monitoring movement. -
So I assume I should also just take the 2nd day leave (15th July) to standby and register too for Phase 2A(2)? And leave the first day to monitor the situation if there will be high chance of balloting for 1-2KM in Phase 2A2! Gosh, I really can feel the heat now!
-
Yes, take leave on 2nd day of Phase 2A2.
first day of 2A2 : nothing much.
Those staying within 1 km are confident, so normally they tend to enrol first.
Same apply to those within (1 to 2 km).
Usually those > 2 km tend to hold back, wait until Day 2, then wait and see first, before decide what to do.
Parents just monitoring number, on Day 1.
Day 1 : very little withdrawal.
Day 2 : more activity, after 3 pm. (ESP. Last 1.5 hrs) -
Do we need to print out from OneMap to prove to school we are within 1km on the day of registration? Or the school will verify via their system when they key in our application?
