2014 P1 Registration Exercise for 2015 In-Take

Ang Joanne:
no i even repeat myself and asked the office clerk again if ballot needed for Phase 1...he said yes....then i wonder....
This is possible, only if there come one day, where they announce & decide put a cap or limit to Phase 1 sibling intake.
But currently, there is no such announcement.
So Phase 1 is still secure.
But if one day this announcement come,
Then Yes, need to ballot for Phase 1 too.
That day will come, when they realize that \"40 seats put aside\" is insufficient.
So if take from Phase 2A already still not enough, then the next target to take from, will be from ... Phase 1.
This figure, \"40\", is only a starting point.
Phase 1 will be the last Phase, to touch.
Before touching Phase 1, they may abolish Phase 2B PV scheme first.
(If there is a PV scheme first)
However in the case of ACS, there isn't any PV, in the first case.
All Phase 2B applicants are either from Methodist Church members, or from GRC. -

I saw in KH Forum that this yr onwards no PV. So its a little start to control phase 2B. -

Yes, if the school abolish Phase 2B Parent Volunteer scheme, then many more of the \"40 seats\" reserved : can go to 2C applicants.
I saw in KH Forum that this yr onwards no PV. So its a little start to control phase 2B.
This help, although there are some who still enter by GRC.
But Kong Hwa is an Hokkien Huay Kuan controlled school.
So there'll still be some who do PV at the Huay Kuan.
They can still occupy some seats, via the Huay Kuan.
Besides Kong Hwa, Tao Nan also follow suit.
Tao Nan also another Hokkien Huay Kuan school.
They just transfer the mode of PV :-
Transfer from PV duties in school, over to PV duties in Huay Kuan.
But it is still PV.
But can you remove the Huay Kuan ?
Cannot.
Because Huay Kuan is the financial backbone.
They pump in a lot of $, to fund the building of these schools.
In the same way, can you remove Methodist church ?
Cannot.
Because the Methodist churches pump in lots of $, to fund ACS Methodist schools. -

Hi mrsngpk,Can someone help me?
I stay in Hougang but intend to let my boy go to Anderson Pri at Ang Mo Kio (my hubby ex's school), under phrase 2A2. He will also be cared for after/before school by my MIL, staying at Ang mo kio too.
Is it confirmed that he can get into Anderson Pri under Phrase 2A2 successfully? Or if I also need to be 1 KM or 2KM even though I falls under phrase 2A2?
TIA
Is your MIL staying <2KM from Anderson pri? If yes you might want to go MOE to do a statutory declaration to register the primary school using your MIL address. This will bring your chance up one level in Phase 2A2 under 1-2KM category.
I stayed in hougang and my mum stayed Clementi. I am ex-student of Nan Hua and my mum stayed just 2 bus stop away from the school. So I am using her address to register in order to be under Phase 2A2 in 1-2KM category. Also because my mum is the caregiver after they finished class so we can do a statutory declaration base on this factor (provided both parents are working full time and the caregiver which is grandparent cannot be working) -
We are PR. staying next to Compassvale primary school. Is there any chance for PR in 2C to get seat for p1

Hi all, as mentioned in the MOE website, all the primary schools are included in the P1-IS online registration system. It means that we don’t need to hover around the school physically. Is that right? I am new PR and have no idea about the P1 registration here in SG.
We want to use the new address but the completion of the resaled purchase will be done in Sep, after the registration period. How should we do so as we can use the new address?
Thanks a lot. -
Hi,
I’m staying around Aljunied area and below are the distance between the schools around:
Canossa Convent Primary : within 1 km
Geylang Methodist School : within 1 km
Kong Hwa : within 2 km
MacPherson Primary : within 1 km
Maha Bodhi : within 2 km
Due to new changes in 2014, understand that there will be 20 places allocated to phrase 2C. Any advice on chances of getting my girl into Maha Bodhi?
Or I should just enrol into Geylang Methodist for a confirm allocation? Is Geylang Methodist better or Canossa Convent a better school? I saw the passing rate to express steam result for Geylang Methodist less than 60%. @_@
Need advice on which school is better in terms of academic and character foundation. -
Hi All,
Need your sharing opinions.
Am staying in tampines 206, and would like to register my daughter P1 at Chongzheng which is directly infront of my hs (falls under less den 1km).
Should I take the 50-50 risks of registering my daughter in Chongzheng which definitely falls under balloting (base on last yr ballots) or shud I directly apply for Yumin ehich is jz next to it?
If I were to apply chongzheng, n gets rejected, will there be higher chance to apply for yumin on d nxt phase?
Appreciate all opinions plsss … -

60% of pupils getting into express stream is not too bad. There are schools with 30% of pupils getting into express stream.
I had a friend whose niece studied in Canossa Convent. She was a bright girl but for some reason, she went to normal stream. I know family support is important but I thought if the school had good support in the first place, a child should be able to get 190 or 200 thereabout to qualify for the express stream. Of course, the sample size is only 1, too small to provide an objective perspective. But still, it makes me biased against the school.
