      Hi

does anyone know the approximate dates for SA1 exams for IP girls?

      thanks!

      It's around 5/6 onwards.
In CA2, for the IP level, last yr there were paper 1 and 2 for Eng Language and Higher Chinese compared to 'O' level girls who hv 1 paper each.

Another paper 'Social Studies' tested for IP level too.

Test scope for IP level in humanities subjects is more and so duration is longer.

Hi can anyone advise when the timetable, for the IP (sec one) SA that starts on 5 may, will be out? I checked the school website and it's not there. Just thought it would be useful to know what subjects will be tested on which days. Thanks very much .

But don't worry, as the subject teachers have told the girls topics to be tested.

To maintain its excellent academic track records, St Nicks has to ensure sufficient school work given including requiring all Lower Sec to do Upper Sec Science syllabus. All these prepare the girls for the GCE 'O' level exam.
            No pain no gain.
To share a bit, school did very well for last yr GCE 'O' level.

Yes, HMT is not easy in St Nicks. U can do outside assessment HMT book but the school's exam HMT paper std is higher.

Having said that, SNG teachers are always there to give coaching to girls after school hours other than the usual Remedials.
Taking ownership of yr own studies ensures the girls look for teachers to clear their doubts at earliest time.

Life in SNG is not just academic. Care n Loving environment is enforced in school like Gratitude, Sharing n Giving, Appreciating of others values.
Enriching Programmes are planned in schools for each levels yearly. Check out in sch web site.

I have a question here… My daughter really wants to get in st nicks . Her results are pretty ok so I hope she can get in … However … I know st nicks got a lot of so called rich people … So are some of the girls there arrogant or compare about wealth , or for example what phone so and so use? Also are do any of u or your girls have friendship problems or making friends? My daughter doesn’t not come from a well to do family … In her school now ( Raffles girls) often bring mocked in school… No friends at all so she is feeling very sad… Wants to go st nicks but worried that this would happen again… Can anyone fill me in?

Sorry to hear that yr daughter is facing such a problem in RGPS.
But please don't be worried in CHIJ SNG.
In SNG, a caring environment is emphasized whereby the bonding among the students is very strong.
School termed it as 'Sisterly Love' or 'Jie Mei Tong Xing'. In school, its common for the seniors n juniors to address one another as jie jie or mei mei.
The school reinforced such values through initiated Prog like 'Guiding Angel'....

As for wealth comparison, so far no, don't worry. The students don't outwardly flash their possessions to friends. So far, I don't hear any adverse comments.

Bring yr daughter down to see the school's campus n environment during the Open House.
                Welcome!

I have a daughter who is also keen on st nicks. I have similar concern as Antheaok and would appreciate some sharing from existing St Nicks parents or students. Thank you.
