I had a helper last yr and discovered missing jewellery frm a locked shelf. The maid used to close the door and clean, my mum discovered a few days after she left. Initially we tot the same s u.. maid gone back. My mum couldnt sleep well for a week and we went down to cantonment to make a

She is so clever, she knew abt the pics in her FB (maybe she joined this forum...) so she took down the pics and closed the account. Anyway, I just found out that she has registered herself with a local agent called RAFFLES EMPLOYMENT and on her biodata, she dare to tell the agent that she has an excellent job record!

I think this maid is disturbing u as much as my mum was when we found out about the missing jewellery. My mum was like brooding over the stolen stuff and she lost a lot of sleep so we took the trouble to go to the cops.
Well, the agent should appreciate the fact that u made the effort to call her. I stongly suggest u make a police report, really! that made us all feel better and the officer wanted to know what we wanted since shes back in her hometown so my mum told him she would like to b informed should the maid return, the officer stated that they will be notified if she comes back. Alternatively, u can follow up with MOM that yr maid has registered with someone and u hv already highlighted her theft to the agent so should any employer decide to take her, remind them that u are referee and would like to communicate with the prospective employer.
You can also check regularly frm MOMs website whether maid has been employed. 😄

You mean now maids can register themselves with another agent while on WP and the agent can accept their registration and market them?

I called the agent up, her name is Pam and told her all abt her lies and bad deeds. Agent was quite surprised ( again, I dunno if agent was acting or what...cos she seems to specialized in transfer maids...) and told me that my ex-maid didn't tell her anything. Aft talking to her, she told me that she will most probably take down her profile..(again I dunno how true...)

Anyway, will see if MOm does contact me if any prospective employers when to employ her...great time to test out what MOM promised!
I'm curious...how did you find out about your ex-maid's registration with a another agency?[/quote]

It was unintentional...haha....I was googling for her FB page and couldn't find it and instead, google listed all her ads! 😉

I believe so cos on gumtree classifieds online itself, there were many maids advertising themselves, seeking a new employer even before their contract ended! Some even had the cheek to request for only expat employers...

They will list out what they can do and what they are expecting...can go take a look..I also didn't know abt this until yesterday!.... :yikes:

No wonder these maids are like changing employers like nobody's business!

You see the thing is that, once the employer has informed the MOM ,even though 100 agencies find employer for your maid, the prospective employer surely will get a letter about feedback, from MOM …then when the new employer calls and speaks to Trimum ,and after hearing all the negative things about the maid…do you think the future employer in his right mind, will want to hire the maid,I would say that the maid’s chances of coming to Singapore already spoiled…

I think trimummy’s maid is reading this forum, she works fast to remove her postings! I still think if there is only one thing MOM can do to keep maids serious about their job is to not allow transfer.

Sad to say that will never happen in spore but it will definitely help MOM cut down on work force and work load.

I think the feedback on maids provided by employers is a very good move, there are maids that dont fit into certain household with kids so thats a mismatch, the maid did not do anything wrong so I guess shes ok for a transfer but much as I wished MOM will not transfer maids, thats not going to happen but a limit of one transfer shld b fair for both parties.

Yes I believe they can. There are plenty of agencies dealing with transfer maids in orchard road.

That depends too...if Kenna ang moh or expats, they dun care. So if there's any ang moh or expat want to employ her even after warning, then good luck to them. Anyway, like what my ex-maid like to gloat to me abt them, they are willing to pay her $700 per mth, 4 off days and can come back really late on off days, plus let her use HP like nobody's business....somemore anytime can give her IPHONE as present!
