Hi, can I check with parents here, how much did you pay for your grade 8 piano teachers for 1 hour lesson?

Normally, It is not recommended to switch another teacher so close to an exam because change in teaching approach may confuse the student and be counterproductive instead. Students do need time to adjust to new learning environment. If the purpose is just to do polishing up or work on components that are not so good, ad hoc lessons with a more senior or specialized teachers are better solutions.

Only if the situation is truly dire e.g. child refuses to practice anymore and go to lesson or every single component not completed, then a switch to another teacher may be considered. Even then, there is no guarantee the exam preparation will be better as the new teacher has to work within a tight constraint of time and poor foundation (if the previous teacher did not teach the basics correctly).
Very nice. Thanks for sharing your performances.

Thank you, if you have a piece of music in mind that you would like to hear, as long as i have the score i will try to record in my spare time.

Dreamaurora, congratulations on the successful concert. I enjoyed your recent uploads as well. You may not be note perfect, but you are always sincere and musical in whatever you play and I really respect that. Any chance you will do a full recital in immediate future? We will go and support you if you do.

Can you recommend and record pieces about animals suitable for lower grades.
Thanks and I am glad you enjoyed my playing. Trying to practice and perform more often now. Hopefully I can have a proper recital next year or in two years time. I am now just acquiring as many pieces as possible in my repertoire first so I am well-rounded.

I have some books about animals for lower grades. I will go through them this weekend and see which ones are noteworthy to record and recommend for students.

                    Hi Dreamaurora

Thks. Actually, my concern is regarding the exam correspondence. The current teacher registered under her name. So if we switch teacher, how should we deal with this part? Can the new teacher take over this role?

I am not sure how ABRSM deals with this. Perhaps you want to call or email ABRSM the procedure to transfer students to another applicants?

πŸ˜† None of my young students like that piece, guess it's not as cute sounding as they expect.
