I'm staying around Aljunied area and below are the distance between the schools around:
Canossa Convent Primary : within 1 km
Geylang Methodist School : within 1 km
Kong Hwa : within 2 km
MacPherson Primary : within 1 km
Maha Bodhi : within 2 km

Due to new changes in 2014, understand that there will be 20 places allocated to phrase 2C. Any advice on chances of getting my girl into Maha Bodhi?

Or I should just enrol into Geylang Methodist for a confirm allocation? Is Geylang Methodist better or Canossa Convent a better school? I saw the passing rate to express steam result for Geylang Methodist less than 60%. @_@

Need advice on which school is better in terms of academic and character foundation.

60% of pupils getting into express stream is not too bad. There are schools with 30% of pupils getting into express stream.

I had a friend whose niece studied in Canossa Convent. She was a bright girl but for some reason, she went to normal stream. I know family support is important but I thought if the school had good support in the first place, a child should be able to get 190 or 200 thereabout to qualify for the express stream. Of course, the sample size is only 1, too small to provide an objective perspective. But still, it makes me biased against the school.

Am staying in tampines 206, and would like to register my daughter P1 at Chongzheng which is directly infront of my hs (falls under less den 1km).
Should I take the 50-50 risks of registering my daughter in Chongzheng which definitely falls under balloting (base on last yr ballots) or shud I directly apply for Yumin ehich is jz next to it?
If I were to apply chongzheng, n gets rejected, will there be higher chance to apply for yumin on d nxt phase?
Appreciate all opinions plsss ..

You will need to look at the past years enrolment data of Yumin to see if there are places left at phase 2Cs as you will go into phase 2Cs if you are unsuccessful at balloting for Chongzheng.

Lots of questions in our minds.
I am a PR and would like to know if I can register in a school within 1-2km.
I heard only those are eligible fr balloting who reside within 1 km.
I am infested in Ahmad Ibrahim but it falls within 1-2km.
Do I stand a weak chance?
Going by 1-2km, I will have to g for Peiying Primary, any reviews on Peiying?

My girl is due to register for P1 this year. We lived in the holland area.

My hubby is an old boy from Taonan. If moving to the East is not an option, it is too much a hassle to travel from West to East and vice versa everyday?

But are there parents who are doing this ? ie. staying far from the school ?

The other options we have near home would be (under phase 2C):

1) Fairfield Methodist >1km<2km
2) Alexandra Pri >2km
3) Henry Park >1km <2km
4) New Town Pri <1km
5) Queenstown Pri >1km <2km

Any suggestions what should we do ?

Knowing the chance is slim … I am deciding on an alternative choice…
