Hi,
My girl is due to register for P1 this year. We lived in the holland area.
My hubby is an old boy from Taonan. If moving to the East is not an option, it is too much a hassle to travel from West to East and vice versa everyday?
But are there parents who are doing this ? ie. staying far from the school ?
The other options we have near home would be (under phase 2C):
1) Fairfield Methodist >1km<2km
2) Alexandra Pri >2km
3) Henry Park >1km <2km
4) New Town Pri <1km
5) Queenstown Pri >1km <2km
Any suggestions what should we do ?
TIA! -
Good day to All…
Feeling anxious as Registration for primary 1 is drawing near… I posted an earlier question regarding staying within 1 km of Ai Tong…
Knowing the chance is slim … I am deciding on an alternative choice…
Hope to receive some advice from all experienced parents.
I am at Sin Ming Ave…will be considering Bishan and AMK schools. And I have an only son.
Thank you all in advance. -

besides Ai Tong within 1 km from your place, which other schools are within 1 km from you too? -
Hi lukemummy... ai tong is the only 1

oh tengsmum…ai tong is pretty tough to get in via phase 2C based on past datas…have some schools within 2 km that will have vacancies left after P2C as back up. If you r a high risk taker, go for the ballot at Ai Tong (you never try you will never know if you are lucky enough to get a place), if really got balloted out, choose another school nearby which still have vacancies and hopefully no need to ballot and put on waiting list at Ai Tong. Since your boy is your only child, nurture him well and with good academic/sports results, he can transfer to a school he/you prefer. My sis friend’s son was initially studied at Catholic High and he got to transfer to ACS Pri coz he was very good in swimming.

Hi I am new here…
My wife was from St Margaret Secondary School and she is a St Margaret Alumni. Her primary school does not exist any more.
(1) In this case, does my daughter qualify for admissions to P1 under 2A1?
(2) If she does, given the new ruling does it mean that she will get in without balloting?
Nowadays, PV is very hard to get. I tried around the schools in my area couple of years back.
Hope you can help me here. Thanks -

Except for Cat High, the rest of Bishan schools are likely to be >2km from Sin Ming. So no point considering Bishan schools as the other popular alternative to Ai Tong and Cat High is Kuo Chuan Presbyterian which requires balloting for SC between 1-2km (which means no chance for >2km)Good day to All..

For AMK, you should be 1-2km for AMK Primary and possibly, Mayflower Primary. Based on historical results, high likelihood that no ballots would be required for SC between 1-2km (or even >2km). With the exception of Anderson, CHIJ St Nic and Teck Ghee, you should be ok for the rest of the schools even if they are >2km.
At the end of the day, very much dependant on your risk appetite and stomach for the ballot. If you want to be certain and not leave things to chance, you should consider the schools in AMK in P2C. For P2CS, you are most likely to be >2km and apart from limited choices, may be subjected to the ballot again. -
