      Hi!

I would like to know how to prepare a portfolio for DSA application. Is there a format/guideline provided by the DSA school or do we have to start from scratch ourselves?

      TIA!

from what i've seen in this thread; the portfolio seems to include the pri sch exam results for p5, p6 (prelim), NSW exams (high distinction), competition (especially math olympiad, mathelympics), cca achievements (eg SYF gold medals) and testimonial from form teachers. the photocopies need to be certified by the pri school admin, i think. But i dunno if we need to submit the dsa application form with the portfolio to the school in person or just on-line entry of info, then submit the portfolio when called up for interview.

Blur me on DSA application. Does that mean that the students have to let the pri school know which sec schools they are applying to thru' DSA? Who else can certify the document?

          Hi,
If your child's pri school organises dsa talks for parents, go attend it and borrow the samples for your viewing; else look out for schools that conduct and attend them. Or, you could wait till I'm free (hopefully by March), and I'll do up a sample for you.

          Hi,

Thank you all for your replies.

Mathsparks: I would REALLY appreciate if you could do the sample!! Thanks so much! 😄

-What the primary school needs to do is to stamp a 'Cetified True Copy' and sign on your photocopied.
-You do not need to let the primary school know which sec school you are applying for.
-Some schools require to submit online and followed by hard copy. Some schools require everything to be burnt on CD, submit together with hardcopy. Some even need the pri school teacher to fill up certain portion of the application form.
The best thing is to go to each individual school's website and check out their requirements.

                  Hi ningy,
For RI, the portfolio to be submitted together with application (Note closing date of May for GEP students) ; for HCI, when the child is called up for free-response test/interview and for nush, its submitted during the camp.

                  Hi snowz,
In my son's school, certify true copy was done at the office. The kids were told to submit by a certain date and pick it up a week later. If there're more certs later on, just drop by the office and they'll do it for you. Remember to make as many copies as the no. of schools you're applying to.

GEP centres normally will arrange for interview courses for their students and TLL does it too. Otherwise, I'll dig thru' my son's notes and share with ya..hopefully before June. 😉
