Although osmosis is not in the syllabus,
the idea of a visking tubing being like the
cell membrane is always tested.

Then it raises the question as to why is it (osmosis) not in the pri sci syllabus if it is so relevant.

It’s upsetting as students are tested more and more on out-of-syllabus knowledge. If MOE feels that some topics are too early for Pri Sch, then why is it that knowledge related to these topics is being tested on, even if it is not directly or exactly the same?

MOE is moving its focus to application based questions more often than questions where answers can mostly be memorised. This serves at more effectively accessing how much does a student understand instead of how much has the student memorised

Do you mean the exceptions where the substances actually have freezing and melting points?

One substance that I know of is agar. Its melts at 85 degrees and solidifies from 31 degrees to 40 degrees. (All temperatures in Celsius.)
