Dear Gummi Bear,
We’ve just checked out the system. No problem downloading. Perhaps you’d like to try again?

:thankyou: potential parents for making time to attend our Open House just now.

Please do refer to our school website for any information which you may have missed.
If you are looking for something different for your child, infusing PLAY along with character education, yet keeping sufficient rigor, in laying a strong foundation in literacy & numeracy as we prepare your child for the eventual PSLE, West Spring is the school! :imcool:
We look forward to have you and your child join our West Spring family next year.

It is a wonderful school. The facilities and the design along with the warmth from the teachers and staff make this school truly great.
I recommend it to all. -
Dear West Spring Primary ,
I have a non-schooling issue to raise over here. Looks like M1(mobile one) network is very poor(or even non existence) within the school premises. Maybe I suggest the school to contact M1 to rectify this issue. Thanks. -
Dear West Spring,
After attending the open house yesterday, i am very much inclined to put my girl in your school. However, there are still some concerns especially on the "Learn through Play" teaching method. I am not saying that this method is not good, in fact, i think it suit my girl very well, knowing that she is not the type that can sit quietly in class and listen to teachers… but my concern would be how effective will this method be versus the traditional methods that most primary schs has? Because WSPS is a new school, we will not know the results until 5 years later when the pioneer batch of students sits for their PSLE… there are also no statistics for comparison on the effectiveness of using the PLAY method…Also, at the FAQ session, the principal mentioned that this method will be used all the way from P1 to P6… i am really confused now…
Wonder if you would have any advise for me? TIA! -
Hi Strawberry Mummy,
We’re glad to hear that you, like many parents who’d attended yesterday’s Open House, are very interested in enrolling your child at West Spring.
As mentioned, parents who want something different for their children are inclined to enrol their children at West Spring.
Not to worry, let us clarify your doubts... :? ...
All departments follow the MOE syllabus and curriculum and lessons are taught accordingly as such. Besides using the PLAY approach to learning, students are also required to spend time attempting the exercises found in MOE prescribed textbooks / workbooks. In addition, additional worksheets are given to students to reinforce their learning. At an appropriate juncture in the students’ learning, individual desk work is also being conducted weekly for students to familiarize themselves with the pen and paper type of assessments. In short, there is a good balance between integrating PLAY in learning and conducting didactic teaching where necessary.
There’ll be more PLAY at the lower primary levels as it’s very important to get children to love learning from young. If learning lacks PLAY from young, the child might come to dislike learning when older. It’s important for children to discover the joy of learning. :boogie:
At the upper primary levels, the integration of PLAY into the curriculum will be reduced proportionately but not totally as current research has shown that children, and even adults, need some PLAY whilst learning.
Do visit our website gallery to read up on the research findings published in the Straits Times last year. We’ve also done research to further verify that PLAY does indeed help children learn better.
At the P5 & P6 levels, we’ll also start to prepare the children for the PSLE through conventional didactic teaching, interspersed with the occasional PLAY, to still make learning for PSLE meaningful and a joy.
In addition, we strive to recognize students’ little successes along the learning journey as a form of positive motivation. We also do this for the inculcation of the school’s values. Hence, our West Springers have shown themselves to be able to discipline themselves when the need calls for them to do so, be it when assembling in the hall, canteen, astro turf field or classrooms.
Hope this clarifies matters. :hi5:
We look forward to :welcome: ing you and your child into our West Spring family next year.

Dear Free2pop,
We're happy to hear that your child loves the West Spring School shoes as it instils in our West Springers a strong sense of pride for their school and 2nd home.
We've checked with the bookshop and been told that size 31 with school logo is currently not available. There're now 2 possible options ie. let your child try size 32 shoes with school logo or let your child try size 31 shoes without school logo. Both are available at the school bookshop.
Owing to there're only P1s this year, the bookshop wasn't able to make many pairs of shoes per size. We hence seek your understanding on this matter.
:hi5: It's great to have such supportive parents like you at West Spring. :hi5:

We've contacted the telecoms to check on the mobile reception within the school premise already. It'll take some time for the telecoms to resolve this matter which had been in existence since the school started operations this year.
