Wonder all your kids have problem eating well? The specialist suspects my friend's 4 yr old kid as Autism. He has problem eating well and need to force feed.My friend is very lost and frustrated :frustrated: He can't communicate well and can't focus in class. The teacher may want him to leave the school

I don't think not eating and autism are related. Autism is more about social skills and interactions. Eating seems to be something else. Does the child have any physical or emotional issues? Eg. difficulty in chewing or swallowing, aversions to certain tastes and textures?
Eating and autism are related unfortunately. It is the sensory processing disorder that inflicts many asd kids. Mine also didn't eat well for the longest time and we had to send him to feeding clinic in KKH. HE only ate eggs, rice, carrot and corn then.
We tried small foods, different colored foods, different textured food etc. can try call KKH rehab about their feeding clinic. It is attended by the dietician, an OT and ST. Now he has been eating much better and more willing to try different food. But he still like his food neat. Means no chopped up vege and mixed together. He will eat his food in order and can't mix together. The only food he will eat mixed together is fried rice. If all the food is cooked separately, he will eat them individually. -

Hi Windie,My son did really badly for his Math and Science SA1, despite my coaching, tuition and hard work
Does anyone have recommendations for a gd tutor who is gd with special needs children?
TIA!
Which part of Singapore do you stay in? I am only aware of Cognitive Learning Centre at Fusionpolis (buona vista). It is a tuition centre for special needs children. -
Hi Kitty2,
Perhaps you can ask your friend to join us in this thread? Like you said, your friend is feeling lost and frustrated with her son’s situation, even if we can’t offer solutions, we can offer our emotional support. Whatever her son’s condition, the journey will be tough, that much I can tell you. -
Hi tyeogh,
Dr Tammy Quek is in private practice liao, her consultation rate is $200+/hr if I am not mistaken. -

Cost wise, they charge $500 a mth for a two hour lesson (one day) per week and u can decide if you want Language or Math. If want both, then is $750 a mth for 2 days per week lesson. One day Math, the other Eng. -
Double E:
Are above charges taught 1 to 1, or in group ?

Hi Double E,
If you can be so kind, do let us know if you think their program is good after your son attended a few months of tuition (assuming you sign up for their program after the assessment). I am planning to send my son there in the future!
