Thanks for the info.
Yes all 4 years in CHS. Some program may be in other school, for example MEP is held in CH. AEP in another school, not sure which. They have a lecture every term rotating among the 3 schools.yin3:
Hi,
some more questions on the IP program...
1) For the first four years for IP students, do they just have lessons in CHS or they are required to travel frequently to St nic or SCGS?
2) For the IP students, they will automatically be continuing their year 5 and 6 in the new JC (not built yet)? Will this JC then be taking in students who are not from IP and who are from other secondary schools? Any affiliation to CHS 'O level' track students?
3) Can the CHS IP students choose to go other JCs in year 5 and 6?
Thanks.
Yes 5th and 6th in new jc , which will also be opened to other schools. In fact CH have dsa exercise at year 3 as well. CH o level affiliation is to CJC. -

No, not planning to let DS2 try gor gor school. We all know how difficult (or impossible) for mainstreamers to go in there via DSA..

[quote=\"firefly38\"]Hi Cowie.. How have you been ?
How's your DS2 doing at CHS ? Is there mid-year exam for the Sec-1 boys at CHS ?
All the best to your DS1 in his MY exam next week too !
how about u?
DS2 likes his school a lot. He is having mid yr exam next week too starting from wed. All the best to your DS1 for his coming MYCT too
Are u planning to let your DS2 go for CHS DSA? How about RI? This yr open house will be on 24th May.
Will decide on CHS DSA, after the yum-cha session with Mr Lee on 17 May..
Is your DS1 checking out of boarding this week, to revise for exam at home ? Seems like many are doing so. But DS1 says he can study better at boarding (less distraction), so he will stay put there this week..

Did u attend the tea session on 17 May? Will your DS2 be going for the DSA CAT Hi? -

Yes, I attended the tea session on 17/5.. It was held at the Sec Sch Hall.. Attendance was overwhelming..
After two performances by the MEP boys, Mr Lee briefed us on the IP curriculum and the new JC, which will be the first 'high-rise' JC in SG (10 storeys).. It will be located opposite Salvation Army @ Bishan (where the golf driving range is now)..
One thing I like about CHS is its mobility between IP & O Level routes.. If a child from the IP route cannot cope, he can 'move' to the O Level track at Sec-3.. Likewise, if a child from the O Level track shows independence & academic excellence, he can 'move' to the IP route at Sec-3 too (after test & interview)..
Have discussed with DS2.. He says he wants to give it a try.. So, I will support his decision..

That's great! I also like the dual tracks the school offers. It really caters the needs for my DS 2 lol.
Hope your DS2 can gets in thru DSA. Good luck to the GAT

Is Cat High the only sec school (dual tracks) that can βmoveβ the child from IP to O level and vice versa at Sec 3 without βkickβ him out from Cat High? I heard if a child did badly in IP sch will be βkickβ out from the sec school. Pls advise.

Dual track schools are chs, victoria, sji, acsi, st nick, scgs and mgs.
I believe even in full ip schools like hci or dhs, they have O level to cater to those who are not able to adapt to ip -

NJC doesn't have hor. If really cannot make it, they are asked to leave at sec 3.Starbear:

Any idea what is the cut off point for DSA CHS-IP (non-affiliation) ? -
I believe DSA have no cut off point (and no affiliation). Once you have an offer and you accepted the offer, you have to qualify for Express stream for the offer to be valid
