      Double E:
      Couragemom:

Which part of Singapore do you stay in?

I am only aware of Cognitive Learning Centre at Fusionpolis (buona vista).
It is a tuition centre for special needs children.

I am sending my son for assessment today.

Cost wise, they charge $500 a mth for a two hour lesson (one day) per week and u can decide if you want Language or Math.

If want both, then is $750 a mth for 2 days per week lesson.
One day Math, the other Eng.

Are above charges taught 1 to 1, or in group ?
If in group, is very ex.
If in group, find out how many kids max per group

            Hi Double E,

If you can be so kind, do let us know if you think their program is good after your son attended a few months of tuition (assuming you sign up for their program after the assessment). I am planning to send my son there in the future!

The cost is for group. there will be one teacher to two kids. I think each class max 7 to 8 kids. I actually wanted one to one but is even more ex. For one to one, 1 hr is $100 and min. 2 hours per session! And have to do it every week which means each mth is $800!!

The director of the centre told me to take up group. Is more cost effective and apart from academic , they will start to infuse behaviour norms to the kids modelling a mainstream pri school setting. Eg. training them to raise their hands if they want to speak etc. I think is good for parents who want to let their kids try out mainstream.

Also, all the teachers have a psychologist degree. I guess u pay for the quality and seriously, we can’t compare price with the normal tuition centres because our kids are special and we need trained teachers who know how to manage them and bring the best out of them.

Sure, I will share more if i decide to take up their programme. I am likely to let my boy try out during the june holidays.

My DS is there for both English and Math. 3 lessons for each subject so far. So far, English has 3 other kids and it’s only him for math. Obviously he prefers the one with more kids cos during break time, they can play together.

                  Hi bbmom,

Hopefully in the very near future you will come to this thread and tell us worried parents that your son’s results have improved leap and bound!

Certainly hope so. Expensive place but worth it if it actually helps him. 🙏

                      Hi parents,

Recently was reading a book and come across this sentence ’ birth is life’s first lottery ticket’. It gives me food for thought as I feel that although our darlings come to us with ‘special condition’ but at the very least life had dealt them a good lottery ticket - US! Parents like us who acknowledge their ‘problems’, who read up and work with them and support them with our love! Salute to all the hardworking parents in this thread!

                        Hi Kitty2,

Perhaps you can ask your friend to join us in this thread? Like you said, your friend is feeling lost and frustrated with her son's situation, even if we can't offer solutions, we can offer our emotional support. Whatever her son's condition, the journey will be tough, that much I can tell you.

Unfortunately, she doesn't understand English so I am just helping her to find out more about her son's problem.
