      Checking in to this thread.

      I have a 2010 boy and 2012 girl.

Definitely need a co-ed school. Dun think I want to stress for my dragon year born girl.

      No affiliation.

Honestly, I hate the idea of PV. Cos no guarantee and have wasted parents time.

I am prepare to move within 1km of a good school.

Hope to learn more from everyone here.

Any one know when Rulang Pri will open PV application for 2017 in-take?

          Thanks!
They follow the MOE's guideline. So if ur kid is enrolling in July 2016, the application for PV will close in May 2015.

Cos u need to fufill the no. of hours (40?) within 1 year to be eligible for the P1 Reg in July.

By setting aside places for 2B & 2C, 2A phase is no longer \"guaranteed\" in future.

                going forward -
in future, next time Nanyang primary Phase 2A1 alumni may also face balloting, one day.
esp. if the figure set aside for combined (Phases 2B + 2C) were to increase one day :
from current starting figure 40, to a higher number allocated, next time.

                With the new ruling -
all Phase 2A1 alumni from Mainstream schools -
                should not be complacent, anymore.

Because if the number allocated (reserved) goes up to a higher number one day -
It means more 2A1 will be squeezed out, to make more space
                for (2B + 2C).

My hubby hates the idea of PV, too. But sometimes, even neighbourhood school gotta ballot for those living within 1km for SG Citizens, like Zhangde, I heard there was a case the poor kid live right in front of the school but got balloted out. I'll be following closely the registration this year at Zhangde and Alexandra Pri this year, would love to register at Alexandra (1-2km from us) cos of their PAL programs but Zhangde is jus next to us less than 500m..

Glad that this thread has started. I am staying in the West and had now started to enquire open house of some primary schools nearby my premises. Guess it’s good to plan early…
