I have a question here.. My daughter really wants to get in st nicks . Her results are pretty ok so I hope she can get in ... However .. I know st nicks got a lot of so called rich people ... So are some of the girls there arrogant or compare about wealth , or for example what phone so and so use? Also are do any of u or your girls have friendship problems or making friends? My daughter doesn't not come from a well to do family .. In her school now ( Raffles girls) often bring mocked in school.. No friends at all so she is feeling very sad.. Wants to go st nicks but worried that this would happen again.. Can anyone fill me in?
I have a daughter who is also keen on st nicks. I have similar concern as Antheaok and would appreciate some sharing from existing St Nicks parents or students. Thank you.
The girls my my DD class are very down to earth....no flaunting of wealth or arrogance in that respect.
Been to a number of Meet The Parents session, have yet to see \"many\" rich people :). -

Hi, as in all primary n secodary schools, theres always a mix of all types of students frm all walks of life. In primary or secondary sch there will always be some kids that are wealthy n arrogant and some not too well off but arrogant too. My dd spent 6 yrs in raffles and there are kids that r super rich but tey dont announce their wealth and are pretty humble. As a matter of fact, its the braggy and arrogant ones that dont hv many friends. Ive seen them alone or with one friend during recess. All are equal during school, so far no one dare mock those who are less well off and the students dnt look at background when they mix around. Its more on character they go for. On the contrary, its the wealthy ones that are mocked and ignored if they display arrogance.
ur child may be a bit self conscious, think she needs to interact more with other kids. I dont think the students today are tat nasty to mock anyone based on their background unless the child has given them reason to do so. -
Hello there
So my child is in Sec 1 this year but her score of 246+2 could not get her in to SN. However, up till now, she still wants to go to SN alot so I would like to ask is there any way she can get into SN now? She don't really like the school she is posted to but I could not do anything about it.. -

Ask yr daughter to try again end of Sec 1. Use her Sec 1 exam results to apply.
If there's vacancy, the school will notify you.
Don't give up hope. -
Hi, regarding the coming PMT, is it necessary to meet all the subj teachers? My gal sed that her FT told them that it is not necessary, just meet the FT will do.
Is that true?

You don't have to meet all the subject teachers. For me, I usually meet those teachers that my DD is weak in. The rest, I will just email them.Hi, regarding the coming PMT, is it necessary to meet all the subj teachers? My gal sed that her FT told them that it is not necessary, just meet the FT will do.

May I know if St Nick offers DSA for O level like Cedar? I can’t find any info in the sch website.
Many thanks -

Its not easy to DSA St Nick thru sports. If I didn’t remember wrongly only 18 vacancy, so if your child is not one of school team or National team, chances are low.

My DD is from neighbourhood school, scored 85% in her recent SA1. She's in sch team for her CCA sports and her sch competed in sch national last year but didn't make it to the final, I would think it's the same for this year.
She had bronze for NMOP last year and silver for SMOP this year. Which will give her a better chance to enter DSA? Academic or Sports?
Say, if she accepted DSA O level (either academic or sports) and did well in PSLE, would she be able to appeal for IP?
Many thanks
