Hi. Just checking with Anderson parents if the Little Red Dot subscription only started last week? I think my child brought back the newspaper last Tuesday. This year seems to be rather late as compared to previous years…

        Hi,

Does anyone know for P3 Science, what is the next topic after diversity? Cycles or system?

I heard that some schools will teach Systems before Cycles.

        Thanks.

I am thinking to send my daughter and son to Anderson primary school. From the web site, it seems like the focus of the school is on sports. How are they doing for character building, arts and acad?

How are the teachers and principal?

It was sports oriented when it was the previous principal. They have changed the principal 2.5 years ago and have changed their focus. Like all schools they have a mix of good and bad teachers. So really depends on your luck. They are improving on their Comms to parents which I see as a good improvement. Been getting SMS when they have newsletters or any special announcements.

Just sharing, frd’s ds of mine fr Maris Stella, when they get bk their SA1 papers for every subject, there’s a slip showing highest/lowest and average scores,do you parents think it does motivate the children to work harder if they are below average? Or if the parent knows their children are not as good as many others, they feel stressful n giving more stress to the child??? Very contradict!!

actually, the school need not show the highest or lowest score.
because highest ... there are so many classes in the same cohort.
definitely there'll be some hardworking & disciplined kids, who scored full marks.

lowest ... also no need to show, doesn't serve any purpose.
only to make whichever child scored the lowest marks feel lousy, knowing that he scored the lowest, in his cohort.
School should not disclose the lowest score.

but, knowing the average score, is useful.
because if a child fall below average in his cohort -
parents should provide guidance & support at home, find out the reason(s) why child fall below average, and help the child at home to catch up, asap.

I think it is Systems! My ds told us they have started Materials, so System should be next when the school reopens.

BTW, what is this Little Red Dot subscription thingy? We received newspaper from ds since last year, but did not recall opting (or paying) for the papers ? 🆒
