However, when Alexandra primary was established, RMPS and RVPS was at the back of my mind. cheer. My two cents opinion.
Well, good luck to you! :rahrah:
Maybe it's a blessing in disguise that you were not chosen as a PV by RMPS. -
kaisuDad:
I will still give the same comment, the reason why I choose to apply for RMPS PV over RVPS is because I see them as being lower than RVPS. I have never intended to serve in RVPS PV, when RMPS rejected my application, I can still go for within 1 km phase in RMPS. I have never even think of applying for RVPS PV.
Well, everyone is entitled to his own opinion. However, it may not be wise to comment in superlative terms unless you are speaking from first hand experience.qms:
after much evaluation, I will go for Alexandra Primary School. Why?
1) River valley is rather atas, I don't want my children grow up classifying people into different classes.
2) RMPS has all the best facilities and systems in place, but they still can't get anywhere near Henry park. That goes to tell about their management.
Why Alexandra Primary School?
They have the best principals in town, and they have the state of art school facilities. I will place my bet on them.
I wonder whether you would still make the same comment about RMPS had you not been rejected by them in your PV application.

No joke, I ever heard two pupils from an atas school comparing parent. One said his father is a CEO, the other claimed his father is a BBM, big business man. Maybe river valley is different, I don't know, but i would rather have my children go to a good neighborhood school than a prestigious school.
:yikes: wonder which atas school or atas parents never teach their children to be humble. :yikes: CEO is just a name. BBM is another title. If one day economic crisis, their fathers can lose their positions and be just like ordinary folks. Sigh, :nunchuk: -
Hi Parents
Any of your kid attended the P3 Maths Olympiad training course recommended by the school? Can share your experience?
As my gal is already attending Maths enrichment class, I’m concerned that it may overwhelm her as the course is 1x/wk till Nov. Am undecided whether to register her. -

I did not see this in the monthly notification mail. -

What does your girl learn in her enrichment class? Topics within the curriculum? How is she coping?
She will learn things outside the curriculum during Maths Olympiad. These topics will not be tested. So, it's something extra. May be good for her in future (provided she still remembers them in future) but if you are looking at immediate usage, there is none. -
Thanks for the advice.
My gal is attending a Math enrichment centre which focus on Heuristics Math & logic problem solving. So far, we are satisfied with her performance. My understanding is the National Math Olympiad competition is only opened to P5 on onwards, I guess P3 would be too early to start drilling on MO. -

Some other schools started in P2 Math Olympiad for their students. Thanks for the advice.

I guess there is no need for her to attend MO at her level this year. Maybe you can register her for the course next year and if she is still keen, she can continue in P5 and take the NMOS then. -

DS received a hardcopy notification. It states that the school has engaged an external training centre to conduct a Math Olympiad Training Course for P3 pupils who achieved an average of 90 marks and above.
IMHO, if your child is interested in Math, no harm signing him/her up for the course. The syllabus is not exactly the same as P3 Math.
DD who is in P6 has also attended Math Olympiad Training Course organised by the school at the beginning of the year found it quite useful. She said it was interesting though they may not be tested in PSLE. It is more for Math Olympiad Test...
Hope this helps. -
Hi, would like to find out if the school provides lockers for the children to put their books? Planning to get a bag for my child who’ll be P1 next year. Any recommended school bag size? Thanks!
