Went for open house last Sat. Class 1A and 2A are \"O\" level track. Only study Maths, science and English. PSLE aggregate 240 below and DSA sports. Their certificate will reflect Raffles Programme Differentiate. Those score 240 above will merge with other classes. Why are they doing this? with the word DIFFERENTIATE is too low morale.

I know RI starting to have O level track but isn't it for like year 3 or year4?
This RPD isn't it there all along? You mean RPD is equivalent to O level?
My son is year 1... Din hear this last year open house

From what we were told in this year Year 1 parents briefing held in Jan, class 1A is sport class and is RPD because not to over stretch these kids. They can still joiN RP in year 3 if they meet the promotion criteria in Year 2. If I'm not wrong, RPD students must meet GPA more than 2.8 to promote to Year 3 RP. As for RP students, if their Year 2 APR GPA is less than 2.4, they will be in O level track in Year 3.

Other RI Year 1 mommies, please correct me if my above info is incorrect. Thanks.

I just want to add to HappySunshine’s post.

Based on what I can see about RPD for Year 1 in the school’s website for parents, there are assessments on Maths, Science, English, Mother Tongue, History and Research Education for them. So, it is clear that they are taught more than 3 subjects. Maybe they are also taught other subjects that do not have assessments.

O level tracks can be found in other schools too like HCI. I think it is called Q class there. I heard NYGH had also started O level track. I think it is good that the school provides these alternatives. For RPD, I heard that there are 2 teachers to 1 subject. I think the school put in a lot of effort to help them move to RP.

Dunman High also offered O level track.

I know everything will be adjusted in Y3. Because Y3 is choosing subject combinations mah. All students will be re-shuffle like music chairs.

Anyhow, DSA sports for swimming, badminton and table tennis attracted the most crowd on that day.

Oh thanks for responding. Try to search for more info but to no avail. Can advise what it is called? Nothing was mentioned too during the briefing...

The boys have been issued hard copies of the Mid-Year Progress Report - Academic Results & Character Growth, plus explanatory notes (3 sheets)..

DS has passed it to me (for signature)..
