      Fion Loh:
i need to put him in school by April because i'm giving birth in July .. I have to pay about $680 if put him in LV so i'm thinking since Joanna leave isit still worth puting him there .. u have any idea wat happen maybe u can PM me 🙂 LSH still no vacancy for my son .

      Firstly, :congrats: to you!

No lah! Nothing serious happened. Just some personal reasons. I think most of the LV teachers from the old Kent Vale centre are still there.

My daughter's favourite teacher is pregnant, and she is now performing clerical work in the centre.

As for LSH, they are open only to staff of NUS. So, unless you or your husband works in NUS, it is very unlikely that they have any vacancy. My daughter is in K2 now, and I must say the centre is in a mess. Maybe because LSH has just taken over.

Does LV offer any \"trial\" for you?

Well, my daughter's class teacher resigned after a month with LSH. The Vice Principal is taking my daughter's class until a teacher is found. A trainee teacher also takes my daughter's class together with the Vice Principal. I still recall the Vice Principal ever told me that they would assign more experienced teachers to K2 classes as they wanted the children to be prepared for primary school. The teacher who resigned fit the bill. However, I am not too sure about the Vice Principal and the trainee teacher.

In addition, they claimed they would use blogs, etc. intensively. So far, I have not seen the intensity that they claimed.

            And other stuffs, too.....

Distance-wise, it's not much different. However, the route to LV@Alpha from my husband's office can be a nightmare. That was the only reason why we didn't go with LV, and this reason is still valid today. A short journey from my husband's office to LV@Alpha, without any traffic jam, takes 5 minutes. During peak hours, it can easily take up half an hour, at least. :!:

                    Hi Fion!

So, have you decided whether you still want to send your son to LV@Alpha?

                        Hi Fion!

I think your boy will be in good hands.

Usually, parents are allowed in the childcare centre during the first three days. However, you can't really see anything because your son will know you are around, and he may not feel the difference.

The real test comes after the three-day. Parents are not allowed in the childcare centre, and separation anxiety may set in. My boy took one whole month to get used to the centre.

I think you may need to assure him that you are sending him to school not because of his sibling, in case he gets the wrong idea. In addition, try to talk to him more often after he goes home. He may or may not understand, though, but never mind. The most important thing is let him know that his daddy and mummy still love him as much.

You are putting him on half day, right?
