ming, you may want to check out the Speech & Drama links for LAMDA (use the Search button above to help you navigate to the pertinent links).

      Hope you find your answer.

        Poonie:

There will be 10 sessions of training during school hours. It works out to only a mere $9.50 per session of training. Even if your child can't make it for the exam in June it is still worth it. The paper is not important la!
        Thanks Poonie !

Does it mean there will be 10 sessions of LAMDA exam training on top of the 10 speech and drama lessons that are incorporated during normal lesson hours?

My undestanding is that the speech and drama lesson cost is borne by the school. We are now asked to enrol for the LAMDA exam and the $88 is strictly for the exam fee only.

Pls correct if my understanding is wrong.

        Thanks.

        Rgds,
        Ming

Ming, the details in the letter and form are quite sketchy. I was under the impression that the amount INCLUDES both the classes and the exam fees. May be good idea to check with the HOD in charge (P's letter) or the vendor directly (on the blue form).

Thanks for highlighting that it may be exam fee only. Indeed it is! I’ve just confirmed that.

Yes, I have letter from the school on the LAMDA course too. I will let her join and take the exam but will not stress too much on the exam. Just let her enjoy the lessons and have fun with her friends.

I think there is a bit of a confusion here. The school is paying for the weekly S&D lesson (as stated in the letter). During the weekly S&D lesson, the trainers will also prepare the students for the LAMDA exam.

Seriously, if there is separate LAMDA training i would like my girl to go for them. However, if it's just $88 for taking an exam then I am not so keen, particularly so as the exam will be held during the June vacation and uncertainty over the exam schedule too.

Yes, you are right. We only need to pay for the exam. I already opted 'no' and ask my dd to return the form today.

                      Hi Ming
Had written to lang arts ,and acc to them , your daughter could take the same exam as a private candidate in Nov when LAMDA here organises exams for independent pupils. For this you can contact LAMDA's Singapore representative, Simon O'Hara, at <lamdaexams>

                      Regards
