Any feedback between St Anthony Pri or Dazhong Pri?

      Thanks in advance. 🙂

        GLORYmum:
Phtthp, are you suggesting to endure 2 years in nyps then transfer to a nearby school ?

After the child has settled down in school, it will be hard to transfer...I pity him/her having to endure the long hours spent on the road instead of enjoying the time sleeping on the bed and breakfast at home.

        Jewel,
Do you plan to move nearer to the school? This is the best alternative in the long run...whether nanyang or pei Chun.

          Hi all,

I wonder which move will you choose if you are in my position.
Staying in Punggol. Hub is former NYP...I am formerly from PCPS.

Frankly I find that if we registered DD in NYP, distance will be a nightmare. I understand that kids from Punggol need to wake up like 5am to get ready for the school bus!! Its a nightmare for straight 6 years.

I wonder how most parents will decide:
          - Distance?
PCPS as it is nearer in TPY?

          - Branded school?
As I guess NYP is the most sought after school?

          - Teachers?
I heard that the teachers in NYP seems to be better in TPY..

          - Totally relocate
Just to be near the school?

Haiz seems like most parents staying in Punggol/Sengkang has this woes of being far away from all the schools they want 😞
Actually if you ask around, there are plenty students are staying at Punggol/Sengkang but studying at NYPS.

Pei Chun Public School (PCPS) is considered a "good school".

            Err…on what basis - academic, facilities, teachers/ principals, values,… ?

Other than having a long history (81 years) and having produced 2 President's Scholar, a couple of notable alumni and becoming 1 in about 12 primary SAP schools in Singapore, PCPS is only an average school.

Whichever school, parents must be prepared to be hands-on.

SAP Sch meaning kids take Higher Chinese with no option to choose \"Normal Chinese\"?

PCPS is an average school?? Base on academics, I would think that PCPS is above-average..... no?

Son was from SAP school…he had to take higher Chinese until end of p4. It was only from p5 that he took ‘standard Chinese’.

                        Good Day Everyone,

I’m new here, able to help to give some advice?

I am staying in Yishun, am now currently thinking which schools should I choose for my daughter. I am evaluating between Northland Pri(nearer to house) and Jiemin Pri. I don’t think there is any chance of my daughter entering Chongfu Pri (the best sch, no 1 in Yishun).

I always knew that Northland Pri is the no. 2 or 3 most soughed sch in Yishun. I am actually quite surprised that for Jiemin Pri - the APP (Number of Applicants versus available places for that Phase) and TUR (Cumulative Take Up Rate at the end of each phase) was quite high for the recent past few years.

I have no confident in securing a place in Northland Pri in Phase 2C even though we stay 1km within the sch due the the past balloting result, perhaps 50/50 only. I was actually from Jiemin Pri, alumni for the sch. If register for Phase 2A(1) should be able to secure a place. However my impression of that school was not that good, was actually an average or rather a below average school during my time.

Qns 1. I have not register to join the alumni associate (Jiemin Pri), am I too late now? Today is 25 June, cut off date 30 June (Mon).
Qns 2: Is Jiemin Pri really that good in Yishun recent years? Comparable with Northland Pri or Yishun Pri?
