Any idea whether school will post MYCT result this year? Until now I still dont see it in Stamford.

The boys have been issued hard copies of the Mid-Year Progress Report - Academic Results & Character Growth, plus explanatory notes (3 sheets)..

DS has passed it to me (for signature)..

            Year 1 parents,

Is there any Science holiday programme on Gram Staining? Is it too late to register? Where to register?

            TIA

You may not get recommendation here, as most of the boys do not have tuition, especially in Math & Science..

Perhaps you can post your query at the Sec Sch Science thread..

Have you spoken to your boy's Science teachers ? Does your boy have problems with Bio, Chem, Phy, or all 3 ?

Hi. May I know to who the external CIP hours documents should be submitted to? To Form Teacher or General Office?

Also, will the CIP hours be reflected in the report card? Will it be reported cumulatively e.g. Year 2 Report Card will reflect CIP hours done in Year 1 and 2 or just Year 2 only?

                  Thank you.

Any tips for RI DSA? I had my GAT test on 20th june. I’m applying through the Math domain. Not in GEP. I have done fairly well for my mid-year exam this year, 3A1A* and merit for higher chinese. I’m currently studying in East View Primary School. Is there any chance for me to get confirm for DSA? If yes, what are my chances? Thank you for your help.

From the post above, it is clear you didn't win any Math Olympiad. Realistic speaking, from past thread, the chance is near impossible. I had read even top students with straight A* in mainstream were declined. I will advise you to heed the advise of given by another user in the other thread.
Though few mainstream students obtained DSA, the more than 2 thirds of the present Y1 consist of mainstream students who got in through PSLE.

                        Hi EStone..

I 'met' you at the 2014 DSA thread. You set up a KSP account to find out more about DSA and RI. You are a mature & sensible boy. Most kids will just leave these 'jobs' to their parents, my DS2 included !

Do your parents know of your DSA application to RI ? What is their advice to you ?

Since you asked for our opinions, I shall be very frank with you..

In my opinion, 3As 1A* is not good enough for RI DSA (Academics). Even 4 A*s is not good enough. To be frank with you, nobody knows what is 'good enough' for RI DSA (Academics). There have been cases of very outstanding pupils not granted CO from RI, not even WL..

Btw, Have you received notification to attend Round-2 on 19 July? If you have, congrats! Go for the subject domain test with an open mind. Try your best. If your best is not good enough for RI (now), its alright. Take it as a learning experience..

DSA is not the only route to join RI. As mentioned by another forummer, more than 2/3 of mainstreamers join RI via S1 Posting, thru their excellent PSLE results. You can be one of them too..

Whatever the outcome of your DSA application, don't feel discouraged. Focus on the more important PSLE. Do your BEST. Your dream may come true when the time is right. All The Best !!
