Hi, fellow parents here. I am a dad of 2 boys. My elder son is going to primary school next year.

I am residing at Jalan Membina. It is very near to Zhangde Primary school ( 100m from the school ) and within 1 km from Alexandra Primary school.

I am now in a dillema whether I should register my son for Alexandra Primary School or Zhangde Primary school for 2015 intake next month.

Going to Zhangde would be really convenient since it is only a short walk away. Going to Alexandra Primary would mean taking school bus and thus he has to wake up at least half an hour earlier.

If you were me, which school would you choose ? Any opinions here ?

I believe Alexandra Primary school would not need balloting for Sg Citizen kids residing within 1 Km while there may be balloting for Zhangde Primary School ( although very good chance for those within 1 km ).

      Hello
I am also due for registration this year.
I am staying at jln Membina too. But to APS is within 1-2km when I checked OneMap.
Both will be in phase 2C.

For me, i would try to ballot for ZhangDe and if unsuccessful then go to APS. Its the distant for me, very hard to wake my boy up...

Based on last year's statistics, APS was full by P2C. So, you reckon it will have places this year at P2CS? 🤷

Abt APS CCA, thats what i heard fr the school. I guess, maybe they will have the standard CCA, but base on students interest, the sch will start extra activities?

Base on last year, 2CS no chance. So must make a firm decision at 2C. Like gambling like that. :xedfingers:

              Can someone enlighten me?

When the results is out on 6 Aug, is that the day the balloting takes place?

                To nemofc & TiongBahru_dad

It may be wiser to register at APS instead of ZDPS in Phase 2C to secure a place (Higher Chance) assuming you are staying along Jalan Membina.

Heading in during Phase 2C at ZDPS mean balloting. If balloting unsuccessful, the only school which could still be available are GESPS & BRPS. But again you guys need to check your distance against these 2 schools whether is still at 1km range?

                Wish you all the best.

Well guess most school would conduct balloting on 4 or 5 Aug in which I assuming balloting would not be conduct on Sat & Sun.

Therefore the announcement of the balloting result would be on 6 Aug 14.
Better to secure National Day, if not really have to sing \"Count on ...
                  \" :xedfingers:

Assuming if ballot unsuccessful then we will have to wait till Phase 2CS to register again?

My colleague mentioned few years ago when she had her balloting, those who were not successful went straight to another school which has vacancy to register.

You will have to wait for the start of P2CS to register. However, some schools allow you to put your name in the waitlist because they assume you will get your child a place in another school during P2CS.
