Personally, I would rather take my chances with a brand new inexperienced maid then take one that has that kind of \"experience\" even if the pay is the same for both.

for my maid, she has reach a point that she refused to follow my mum's instructions when doing household chores.. always thinks that what she does is right..in the end, spoil alot of things in the house. her attitude just getting from bad to worst. to the point she challenge my mum saying \" you not happy then send me back to agent\"

Agree with most of them. Most likely she has been 'influenced' by other maids during her dayoffs - not happy, change employer (BTW, is she under the old 1-mth-1-dayoff scheme or new scheme?). She may be already in conversation with the agent, who could be telling her - not happy, change employer. It is not easy to find a maid but if her attitude doesn't improve, then she becomes a burden. Unless got free replacement within 1st year, it is better to sent her back home than to agent.

Hi POA Teacher,

Why are employers willing to pay more for such maids? Because they don't know what happened with the previous employer. Think about it. When you hire a transfer maid, do you speak to the previous employers? Most likely no. Only speak to agent and maid, who will of course paint rosy pictures.

Why spend even more money? If you can spare the time, you should do it yourself. You can also check to make sure that she surrenders the special pass to the immigration people at the departure hall. If she knows you're keeping a tight eye on her all the way to the airport, she's less likely to make a run for it. With a new agent, and a stranger to both of you, she'll probably try to make a dash, particularly since she may have her passport with her. If she does disappear, MOM will blame you because the onus is always on the employer.

Just sent back my MIL’s maid to agent after 4 months. MIL cannot tahan already due to communication failure/lack of respect etc. plus maid told her a few times she wants to go home. On the morning we went to help her to inform the maid. We told her you want to go you can go. Maid took it really well I must say! She nod her head and went to her room to pack everything. Paid her month’s salary and said bye bye to her, all the best. Took her to the agent, no yelling and screaming just signed the relevant forms, check her money and handphone that’s it. We were quite worried what would be her reaction but turned out nothing much. No drama. Now she at agent waiting for new employer. We are also looking for new maid.

What I don’t understand is: if she wanted to go home, why didn’t you buy her a ticket home? Why is she waiting for a new employer?
