Has anyone genuinely lost their kid in a crowd before?

90 mins? I'd have gone bonkers by then.My colleague brought his brother's son to Japan (but his brother did not go to Japan). He promised his brother he will look after his boy.
Then he lost the boy for 90 mins !! Found by sheer coincidence in a police station !!
My friend said he really \"lau jio\" and shit on his pants !!
Confession - I lost my 3 yr old son in Paris for a good 15 minutes. Gosh, time was like it had been frozen. Fortunately, I spotted him with a nice foreign couple. They were on the way to Information Counter. Nearly drove me mad. Strangely, I didn't have the heart to scold him. Just kept telling him how worried he had made mommy. That night, I told him horror stories about how little kids were kidnapped and their limbs were hacked off and made to beg on the streets. Think that was more effective than any punishment for my son. My, it was really a scary experience. -

It was my girl who told me about the incident. My hubby did not dare to tell me himself. I didn't know whether to laugh or cry.tamarind,
lucky you didn't know about it, else i think you WILL faint in the office...!!!
luckily nothing bad happened to them. Phew!
My maid said she was so scared and worried, she was trembling and could not move. -
tree nymph:
unfortunately, what you heard is kinda true... there are some syndicates exploiting kids like that.
Heard from my friend that the 2 missing boys (McDonald offered a reward) were spotted in Thailand with their tongues and limbs cut off. When someone asked if they were the boys as they looked very much like them, they could only cry.
Though it's not confirmed but the poor parents must be really heart broken and I don't think time has eased their pain.

I'm sorry to say this but I deeply regretted starting this thread. Some of the things I read in this thread greatly depresses me. Maybe I can't handle the truth. May God have mercy on our children

Yeh, i heard something like that on the wife too. she could be abucted, very easy mah, can be overpowered easily by a strong man.
As for the two boys, very very sad. I think they are prob better off dead then living like that (if they are truly the same two boys). Do you think the parents will be able to recognise them? If this happened to you (touch wood) will you try to bring them back?
Sorry OT OT huh… -

don't get so depressed! don't worry, we need to tell our kids to be careful and not to follow any strangers. On our part, we have to be vigilant, don't worry too much, ok? -
I lost my DD1 twice. Once, when she was about 3, we went to IMM. I went to the toilet on the ground floor, near where they sell snacks now (previously, it was a big, open space used by tenants for road shows, etc.). She didn’t want to get into the cubicle with me so I told her to wait for me at the bench just outside the toilet (this was before they were renovated). After I came out, she was gone. I searched all around and I even asked a guy manning a stall nearby if he had seen her. He led me to the information counter. I think the info counter staff probably encounters many such cases cos they were rather indifferent/nonchalant(?) to my request. I was told to write down her name and description. As I was doing so, the same guy I approached for help before came back with my DD1. He said he found her playing by herself in that big, open space. The silly girl didn’t even know I was worried. I thanked the guy profusely (and felt a bit paiseh that I couldn’t patronise his stall since he was offering wedding photography services).
Another time, we were at Kiddy Palace, Causeway Point. I was browsing the VCDs when she walked off without my knowledge. Since she was small and short, it was difficult to find her. Luckily, she had taken one of the toy cars (those that she can ride on) and wheeled it out of the store. By doing so, this little "shoplifter" caught the attention of one of the sales staff who eventually crossed my path.
Last year, DD1 told us that she got lost while out shopping with my PILs, grandaunt and uncle. She was so engrossed in looking at something that she didn’t notice that they had left the area. When she couldn’t find them, she went straight to the information counter and gave them her name and my MIL’s mobile number. The staff there called my MIL who came to pick her up.
Due to DD1’s increasing need for independence, I always point out the information counter to her whenever we go out shopping.
