Hi Qms, may I know what LLLS means ?
Hi KC_spider, why do you have to look at RVPS within 1 to 2 km ? I thought u r aiming for RMPS or APS. I wonder where u stay. R u within 2 km fm APS at least ? It should be quite safe under P2C right ??
Having said that, I think APS is really a wild card in the P2C phase since its vincinity overlaps ZDPS, GESPS & RVPS. Judging from its Parent network review & hearsay from online & neighbours etc, I believe lots of people near it wd go for it under P2C. Who knows, there maybe balloting for under 2km this time round & as a result, less balloting possibility for ZDPS & RVPS in P2C.. Haha, just a wild guess.
Actually, I am quite undecided myself whether I should go for APS or ZDPS yet. I am within 1 km of both but less than 100m for ZDPS & possibly 900m for APS. Any opinions from you people ?? -

For ZDPS in 1 km, confirmation of balloting for staying at 1km.
For APS in 1 km, should be a safer bet to get in but do monitor the situation closely. Then go register on the last day at 4.15pm. :xedfingers: -
Woah titank garang lei. Chiong in at 4.15pm? Most would have use APS to weigh their chances against ZD. Imagine the last minute rush. Aiyo heart attack.

Im just relooking at all the choices i have base on one map website. I did consider RVP before.. but somehow i procrastinated and in the end didnt submit my pv form. i really wanna :stupid: now.
Anyway my child told me that he wants to go to aps. He visited both rmps and zps and does not like it. Guess kids prefers new things. And we stay nearer to aps than rmps actually.
Whichever sch is fine. Rmps i happy. Aps son and i happy. God will choose for us :please: 50-50 chance.
For ur case, seems like u r more incline towards zps. Guess u will have to monitor the situation carefully and make decision on last day. If u choose zp, will have to have another back up sch. -
Erm... I am undecided not because I am not sure whether I stand a chance at P2C at ZDPS. I am actually very confident after the current intake figures and also my gut feel that it wd not be as popular this year since APS wd lure away more students as it has such good reviews ( both online & fm neighbours, hearsay etc ).
*** haven't I given enough hints in my earlier post & you people failed to get it a weeny teeny bit. I am beginning to doubt my writing & communication skill now.. :?
As for now, I am inclined towards ZDPS purely because of distance plus I visited their Open house, found it quite ok overall. ( Actually that was the only open hse I attended & I have not visited others, so no comparison ).
I however do have concerns abt ZDPS pass year PSLE performance. I knew that in year 2012,
a) its mean PSLE T-score was only about 197 :yikes: ( felt it kind of low, what do u think forumers ?? Do you guys have figures for other BM schools ? ).
b) 5.64% students score 250 & abv, ( not fantastic but considering that Qms heard that RMPS's corresponding figure is only abt 4%, it actually sounded not bad now ). :rotflmao:
I could not get any figures for year 2013. However, considering that PSLE in year 2013 was easier compared to 2012 & more people score abv 250 ( info from KSP forum & published results of other school eg. Unity Primary school in CCK ), the predicted figures shld be higher too. ( Again ZDPS did not release it could be because of MOE directive or it could be they did not perform well too ). I do not have KC_spider courage to ask them abt it  & also think they wd not tell it by the way.
For APS, the pros to me is
a) good review from parents of current P1 students.
b) no bad influence from seniors.
c) more teacher or principal to student attention. ( imagine Principal's workload is only 1/6 of other schools with p1 to p6 ). Next year wd be 1/3 lah..
d ) new school & new facilities yet not too new since current P1 guinea pigs r already there.
e) last but not least, Principal from renowned school Maha Bodi & VP from CHIJ St Nicolas girl school.
f) quite good PSLE track records. ( ehm.. I have subconciously taken the average of Maha Bodi & St Nicolas girls school past psle performance as APS track record )
The cons to me :
a) not as near, 900m compared to ZDPS, less than 100m &
.... Nothing else.. Fellow forumers can add for me..
Sigh... That is why the hesitation now.... -

It means you should http://www.sherv.net/ more. :evil:TiongBahru_dad:
If I were you, I would go for ZDPS because it is so near. You will realise the convenience when your child reaches higher levels. The benefits cannot be under-emphasised.Actually, I am quite undecided myself whether I should go for APS or ZDPS yet. I am within 1 km of both but less than 100m for ZDPS & possibly 900m for APS. Are you sure you are 900 metres from APS? Please check and re-confirm.
Maybe I should re-post what you said earlier to further strengthen your conviction?TiongBahru_dad:
To decide between ZDPS and APS, you just need to ask yourself a simple question: Do you mind your child studying in GESPS/Cantonment? If not, go for convenience. If you do, go for security....If really we are so unlucky to be not selected, I wd then aim for either Gan Eng Seng Primary School or Cantonment Primary school in Phase 2C Supplementary. We are afterall Sg Citizen within 2km of these 2 schools.

197 is a bit low. RMPS has been achieving at least 210.I however do have concerns abt ZDPS pass year PSLE performance. I knew that in year 2012,

I believe you should have read the posts in the parents' networking group for Zhangde. Nevertheless, to aid you, here's a review by one of the forummers:
http://www.kiasuparents.com/kiasu/forum ... 3#p1012583
If you are still hesitant, you may like to PM mummy of 2. Her children are in Zhangde, too. She will be able to give you her advice. In fact, when she was due to register for her elder child, she opted for Zhangde instead of RMPS (BTW, she was in P2B and hence need to go through balloting for both schools). Perhaps you should ask her for her reasons.
With the added convenience, I would think it is worth going for Zhangde. If you subsequently feel that the school is not right for your child, apply for a transfer. You may be able to get your child transferred to RMPS instead.
Do not overlook a school simply by the PSLE results. Many factors determine the school's achievements. -
Well, speaking of distance of schools. Heart aching again.
Gave up two good schools at early phases due to long distances (>20km).
So. APS within 1 km. It's not like 5KM away. Not that far right? I've heard that there'll be sch buses to pick kids up even if they stay back?
From APS website, seems that the P2 kids don't need to stay back. I wonder why. Or they have yet to find suitable PAL activities to entertain the kids yet? :scratchhead: -

Hi raynreg, I have left you a PM. Kind regards.
