Looks like majority of 2A2 Radin Mas parents : stay less than 2 km.
        eleven 2A2 > 2 km : not a lot

Any feedback on cantonment primary? Are there many foreigners in the school? How is the curriculum?

              qms:
              TiongBahru_dad:

I however do have concerns abt ZDPS pass year PSLE performance. I knew that in year 2012,

              a) its mean PSLE T-score was only about 197 :yikes: ( felt it kind of low, what do u think forumers ?? Do you guys have figures for other BM schools ? ).

197 is a bit low. RMPS has been achieving at least 210.

I believe you should have read the posts in the parents' networking group for Zhangde. Nevertheless, to aid you, here's a review by one of the forummers:

              http://www.kiasuparents.com/kiasu/forum ... 3#p1012583

If you are still hesitant, you may like to PM mummy of 2. Her children are in Zhangde, too. She will be able to give you her advice. In fact, when she was due to register for her elder child, she opted for Zhangde instead of RMPS (BTW, she was in P2B and hence need to go through balloting for both schools). Perhaps you should ask her for her reasons.

With the added convenience, I would think it is worth going for Zhangde. If you subsequently feel that the school is not right for your child, apply for a transfer. You may be able to get your child transferred to RMPS instead. 😉

Do not overlook a school simply by the PSLE results. Many factors determine the school's achievements.

No need to PM me. My reason is very simple ZD is within walking distance but RMPS need to take school bus. I prefer my kids to have more sleep. Anyway I always believe that ultimately it all boils down to the kid, parents and teacher. The school is not that important as long as it's decent. As for whether you get gd teacher, it all depends on luck. So far my kids are being taught by dedicated teachers. DD's form teacher will email us at least once a week to update us. Both are doing well in ZD and enjoy going to school. Sometimes we jokingly ask if we shd move somewhere else. They always object on the basis that they do not want to transfer to another school.

I have a few friends whose kids are there. Not v positive feedback. Seems that tchrs always changing and it's the form teachers. I heard like 4 times in half a yr.
Students quite rowdy too. My friends chose the sch purely bcos of distance. They stay within 500m

Hi, thanks for all the feedback.

I somehow agree with Qms & mummy of 2 that being able to walk to school instead of taking a transport is a really big advantage. In fact, I feel that MOE should change the 1st tier distance to within 0.5km & 2nd tier to " 0.5km to 2km ".

For ZDPS, I generally think that it is a reasonably decent & good neighbourhood school. It somehow coincide with the views of parents online & KS veteran.

In any case, if my son is really of good academic capability, he probably wd be sorted to the top class cum P3 ( better teacher, better peer pressure… etc ). If he is not up to it, he wd still get to a class suitable for his standard. If he is really of exceptional capability ( I can’t find a dreamer smiles to insert here ), there is still the GEP test at P3 where he can be identified & sorted to its kind.

I think ZDPS is still my 1st Choice. I wd go for it.

Is that true ? Cantonment is my back up school if I fail my ballot at ZDPS ... 😓

                      Thanks KSChief for the BBcode.

suggest to go down straight to the school early to see the \"live\" numbers if you looking at last day to reg in 2C of preferred sch.
