Periwinklejoy,
Weekends are no different from weekdays-he has to learn his dictation/spelling for both Eng and CL. No choice bcos he has no time to do that on weekdays. Sat mornings are for tuition homework.
Weekday afternoons are for school homework, then followed by a nap and nights are for revision.
If there is no CA/SA, then he can play wii every Fri night. He has swimming every Sun evening.
IJJ,
My boy was watching TV, playing with his toys yesterday. It doesn't seem to occur to him that CA1 starts today. I can only hope that he will be focused and make lesser careless mistakes for his papers.

She was disciplined to learn her CN dictation and spelling for the first few weeks but after that, due to more homework, she only manage to start learning a few days before her spelling.
What tuition do you send him to? -
periwinklejoy,
My boy has CL tuition since K2. Used to be group tuition but switched to individual in middle of P1. Needs more attention because of comprehension, oral and 作文. -

don't worry friend, my friend and me also have this kind of feeling..you are not alone hehe...My son is having his CA1 next week...don't seem to see him very focused and younger one not in reading. Told her to pick up a book to read rather than walking around the house and bugging me for this and that. :x :x Honestly, I don't enjoy weekends bcos I get tension headache with both at home as compared to weekdays when it's so peaceful.
I do sound like a horrid mum but I'm stressed. -
Donkey,
It's so peaceful in the morning, even though it's just 3 hours...will either be doing housework or tidying up the house. But come weekends, with these 2 fellas at home, my time is focused on them.
Son told us his both his Eng and Maths CA1 not easy. I don't want to think about it since what's done cannot be undone. Can only wait for papers to be returned to see which areas he needs more attention. -
ya, my gal also said maths tough.... cldnt finish all questions.
but i told her its ok, its only ca1. not to fret over it la. -
Pei Hwa known to set tough Maths paper…but for 10%, I don’t want to stretch him too much. Son told me he managed to finish all questions but no time to check. I told him it’s ok.

Hi periwinklejoy & janet_lee88
CA1 is always very tough. my DS used up the correction tape which i changed the night b4 maths CA. So i can imagine how tough it was.
anyway, recognise the child’s effort!

Hi tweet,
CA1 is very tough, esp Maths. I don’t want to push him for 10%. As long as the child has done his/her best, I feel we should give him/her credit. -
For P6, my DS’s subject weightage is different cos he only has CA1, SA1 and prelim.it is either 30%/70% or 40%/60% (CA1/SA1) and 100% for prelim.
